Hi Guys, After buying on of these ages ago, selling it to a friend, buying it back, lending it to a friend, and then at last setting it up... i am now wondering what i can do with it! I put Virtua Fighter 10th Anniversary in the drive the other day, and it worked fine, as did some random PAL promo disc... but im wondering what else it plays... Anyone know if it will play copys or know how i can get data to it over the ports it has on it? )
Don't think it's got more than a normal first-gen ps2... dont have a retail one so i cant check... think its just got 2usb and 1 firewire. )
I belive these systems are designed to play betas of games, but i hear you have to burn them in a special format.
I heard that it plays Betas/Backups of all-region PS2 games. I never knew that it also plays original Games.
If it's the same model as mine(DTL-H10000S) then it's not. I've compared it with my SCPH-10000 and hardware wise it is identical. My unit lack the cool "TEST" logo. They must have brought them in on later models For my unit games must be "Master Discs". This can be done the long way through CD/DVD gen or the infinetly easier way through Loser's Master Disc patcher. If you're unabale to find it let me know and I'll e-amil it to you. Now the dissapointing part. You probably won't be able to get much Homebrew stuff running. A lot of it uses MCLOADER.ELF which is 1 character longer then the standard so niether cd/dvd gen or the MDisc pather like it. If anyone knows how to gte around this please let me know. There is also SN-Systems proview. IIRC this allows you to send .ELF file(PS2 executables) from the PC to the PS2(through firewire) for testing.
DTL-H10000S is simple ver., it cut it all memcard service in BIOS and IOP even you use proview to boot the MCSERVICE also did not work. there is inside bios files. you can see a little different
DTL-H10000S is no game region,no dvdplay cupport,no memcard service,no hdd support, master disc read support. that is H10000S all :-D
I have a 'Test' ps2.. and Getting copies to boot is simple, Just need to build a iso of the game (CD or DVD) and simply patch it using a patcher that turns the iso into a 'Master' Write back to the disc and game boots fine. This only has to be done with PS2 games.. Psx games boot fine. The machine also boots any original MultiRegion. I dont have the link to the patcher... but can send to anyone who wants it. Oh and yes... Reads Memory cards fine! (had a problem with 1 of my cards.. but that WAS the card!)
Id ask you for the patcher, but i fear that it will be a windoze prog... the only one one of those nasty things i have at home has nt4 on it and no writer... Would ISO's of games not be patched anyway? if so, i could just burn that directly from my primary machine at home. )
Yep its a Window$ prog! Urm.. not really no.! If I gave you a ISO of any of my games here.. then yes they would be pre patched (I think.. because -->I<-- have patched them to boot for me) but a ISO off an original or a DL'ed ISO wont boot (99%) of the time unless its patched with the patcher...As Chief Chujo wrote before.. its called the Loser's Master Disc patcher! only takes a second or so to do. Can be found fairly easily, but if not, Chief Chujo or i can send.
