I'm sure everyone has had the chance to do this by now, but I took the local demo unit at ebgames for a test drive on Excite Truck yesterday.

The controller is pretty light and very easy to use, but without any kind of force feedback (not even the turn tension of a steering wheel) it felt rather strange, you didn't really feel like you were controlling things. I suppose this might be different if you were playing it at home without the Sunday shopper distractions around me.

Excite Truck plays very similarly to the SF Rush series of games and the graphics looked terrible, not even as good as the top par GC games. I'm not sure if this version was a WIP, but I doubt it. Unfortunately I didn't get chance to try out the Nintendo Sports disc.

As it stood, this demonstration wouldn't make me want to buy one. At all. However, I am holding out a while to see what the other software is like.

I tried the same demo at gamestop. I was amazed how responsive the controller was. However I wish I was sititgn down to play it. Belive it or not I had an easyer time steering with one hand then two.

I agree on the graphics looking lousy, I read that most wii kiosk aren't even using compnent cables. Even though it wasn't the best game to show off the wii, I did seem more intrested in wii after trying it.
