While sure this is probably something more for the sales thread I have a more general question. Is there really any value to having the demo cart of a DS game?

My coworker bought a used Tetris DS from an EB to only now realize he was sold the Demo "not for resale" cart. I'm wondering if I should snag it off him as he would happily sell it to me for purchase cost or exchange for a normal tetris ds.

Lots of people collect them, they command slightly more than a loose retail version would.

Not as valuable as Download Station carts, Pokemon Distribution carts, etc, but there is still a following. I was collecting NFR GBA carts for awhile, but there are just too many.

Yeah, I'd buy it from him, if I were you. Sounds like it would suffice if you pay him as much as he had to pay at EB Games.
I'm not sure if there is any real value in having the demo cartridge, but since when does that necessarily have to be given for a collector? It has more of a subjective or emotional value. You know that it's something special that you usually can't acquire as most of the demo carts are going back to Nintendo and are probably destroyed. So it's something special to have, even if it doesn't really physically differ from a regular game (unlike special dev cartridges) - other than the data on it, of course. And collecting only the data/rom copies of the demos isn't really sufficient, since it'll never be the real thing. In that way, the cartridge itself is something special even though it doesn't differ from retail cartridges.

just an update, I end up buying it off him. Somewhat pricey (it's ebgames) but hey it is a demo you don't find often and worse case I could take it back (I got the receipt).
