I disassembled 2 Tetris cartridges for the Game Boy today. Surprisingly the carts contain different circuit boards:

The left pcb is from a Tetris cartridge sold in Germany, the right pcb is from the UK.

I didn't know that Nintendo used epoxy glops in their carts, or is it a pirate?

They used glop-tops for SNES Starfox as well. From the looks of the PCB I'd say legit.

Interesting. Is the music the same on both carts? Someone was talking about Japanese carts having different music not so long ago, would be surprising if the two PCBs had different samples. Unlikely, but surprising.

That cart brings back memories though, still love the art design to this day.

With the speed that they were churning these carts out as freebies, I'm not surprised they skipped over spending money on full chip casings. :p

Yeah, as I remember correctly, most german (swiss) GB games used the epoxy "blobs".

There's a few revisions of JPN Gameboy Tetris. Differences include music, title screens and even two different Item #s: DMG-TRA and DMG-TRA-1
