A while back I acquired a manual for the US release of Tetris The Grand Master. This wouldn't be strange if it wasn't for the fact that to my knowledge (and everyone else I have asked), TGM was only released in Japan. Apparently a collector in Portland has a cabinet with the US version of TGM1 in it, but I have no idea if that is a prototype or sample release game. Anyone have any more info on this? Would be great if I could find the back story regarding what happened to the US release.
I'm a TGM fan myself but can't help with that particular question unfortunately. Never heard of any release outside Japan. Have you tried asking the people over at tetrisconcept? (http://tetrisconcept.net/forum/)
Yeah, I already tried asking around there. You may recognize me as "KevinDDR" on that forum. Sadly none of us know any more about this unusual manual. I posted here in hopes that someone outside of the TGM community might happen to know something about the release without knowing the significance of the games. Thanks for the suggestion though! Hopefully the mystery gets solved at some point. If I find out more details, I'll be sure to post back here too in case anyone is interested.
