Of course I'm less than a Year into the Saturn Collection Scene But Already I'm finding Japanese versions of Weestern Games I simply MUST have.

Case in Point NBA Jam TE on Saturn. The fact it exists strikes me as funny as I don't imigine this sold well but at the same time, It's NBA JAM...only Japanese this is awesome!!!!!! I hate Basketball and I hate Sports Games but I LOVE NBA Jam.

Has this happened to anyone else? You see a Japanese Version of a Western Game and you want it simply on the Basis that, owning the game would just be completely random?

For the Record DOES NBA Jam have any kind of following in Japan?

I know Mortal Kombat has a small fanbase in Japan, But I don't know about NBA Jam.

LOL! I'm in the same boat, bought the Burnout series in Japanese region just for bragging rights of how much I love Burnout.

Konami had an awesome Basketball game back in the day too, it was Arcade only though to my knowledge. Run And Gun was it?
    Was that ever ported?

How about the Japanese version of Crackdown with box art by the Lupin III artist?

I have the Japanese version of Earthworm Jim 2 for Saturn. I bought it because it was cheaper than the US version, mainly. Too bad it's a horribly mutilated version of the original, but I think the game content is the same as the US version.

I really wish there were a Japanese version of Vectorman, but sadly it was never released there.

Random Japanese version of a Western Game, I hear you say?

I have a fetish for these, so I buy them occassionally. Here's a recent picture of some dorky JPN Saturn releases:

I also really enjoy Japanese Western PS1 games such as Final Doom, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Micro Machines, Need for Speed 1 & 2.... or even better, PS2-stuff such as Burnout 3, GTA III, Vice City, San Andreas, Max Payne or Need for Speed Underground. :D

Too right. When I hear Crackdown I always think of the Mega Drive / Sega arcade game.

LoL at the picture on Japanese version of "The horde" Cd. I really like.

About NBA Jam, Japan created glorious things like Baseball stars 2, so i can see how some of em would like NBA JAM. ( I hate sports games in general but I like Baseball Stars 2, NBA JAM and Mario Lemieux Hockey on the Genesis )

I still have Mirror's Edge in Japanese for PS3. Just a random find. Wouldn't be an easy sell in the US, few here want it.

Once saw then passed up Tomb Raider Underworld.
