Hi everyone, First of all, a little back story on what the golden Wii is.. The gold plated Wii from THQ was send to Buckingham Palace / the Queen of England for a marketing stunt to promote their game "Big Family Games". It made the press and had a huge social media impact in the collecting scene and elsewhere. Here are links to some media sites: https://kotaku.com/5264383/the-queen-of-englands-gold-plated-wii http://www.luxuo.com/culture/celebrities/queen-elizabeth-receives-a-gold-plated-wii.html https://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/05/21/golden_wii_queen/ around a year ago I purchased the Golden Wii from a high-end collector who got it from a THQ employee the console came with certificates from THQ, the Wiimote and the game, The nunchuck however got missing when THQ went rip. How did the system came from the royal palace back to THQ.. well it's pretty easy it never got signed for acceptance at Buckingham Palace and was shortly after sent back to THQ headquarters. As we all know THQ stopped and it ended up in one employees hands. This employee later sold it. The console: The console looks stunning, everything including the edges and inside the old port-flaps are plated. pictures: The Wii was displayed and glued on a pillow to prevent it from falling over. the red part is still on the system When turning it on the firmware of the system is 3.2E and the "console nickname" is THQ So that's it I just wanted to show you guys this amazing system, if you have any questions let me know! I also weight the console, and compare to a normal wii it's 24grams more heavy!
Dano posted info about the console before he sold it: https://assemblergames.com/threads/...-built-by-thq-for-the-queen-of-england.65990/
