Received this in the mail today: Yeah... so that sucks. A lot. However, the paper was taped on with scotch tape and the packing tape seemed thin and not very strong. Also it's really humid today and I was feeling lucky. With some patience and strategic approaches, I was able to get it to this state:
I was mega pissed but the results were amazingly good so it made me significantly less pissed. Negotiated small partial refund with seller and all is good.
Wow, how can someone be so cheap to the point they don't even wrap the box they're shipping!? PS: You really should hide your address in those pictures.
One time I ordered a Japanese PS1 dual analog joystick, and the guy shipped it in the original box. Over time, I was able to remove most of the labels and tape, but the box is still slightly damaged in some places, and there's no way to fix that. If I'd received an NES box in that condition, I'd be pretty pissed. It sounds like it worked out okay for you, though. I still have the analog stick box, and it doesn't look too bad, but I wish the seller hadn't shipped it in such a stupid way. It taught me a lesson, though; if you're ordering something that comes with a box, especially something big, you should make it clear to the seller that they should put it inside a larger box. It seems like it's so obvious that you shouldn't have to say it, but it might not be obvious to someone who isn't a collector.
Haha, yeah it's a head-scratcher allright, but it ended up ok I think. I'm moving soon so I don't care much about the address on there. It doesn't even have my name which is also kind of strange.
wow that is amazing, you would think the stickers would peel off the paint from the box I had a similar problem with a steering wheel thank goodness they didn't use sharpie on yours unlike pic related
Always learning something new here on assembler...Hong Kong version...whaaaaaaaaaa ? So I googled...there is even the...other brother...and Hong Kong versions are PAL ?! :O Now I want this product "For use in Hong Kong Only"...wow...and man, I would have become the Hulk on recieving that "package".
Yeah you can tell the NES is for Hong Kong because of all of the Chinese text all over the box.... Or so one would think. At least the later Hong Kong version Nintendo stuff is a bit more satisfying in that department.
I hate it when they do that. I bought a game once and the seller just slapped an address label directly on the game's box. He wrote my address so hard that it's permanently etched into the cover.
Nice job on saving that box! Treat yourself to some "Holy Grail" Mah Jong? http://www.ebay.com/itm/MAH-JONG-HO...EW-NINTENDO-NES-THE-HOLY-GRAIL-/332296886983?
