I'm in the mood to talk Arcade games. Pinball, early Atari, everything Taito, Neo Geo, Capcom, Sega, Midway, Psikyo, Toaplan and Cave and games that seem to only Exist in MAME like those random Korean games and games so shitty you can't picture any operator buying them.
I never looked into it and I watch quite a few YT channels into collecting I never see anyone pick up NARC. If it's common and not in demand between $50-$300
This being the nicer and cheaper of the 2 I see on fleabay at the moment asking $695.00 or make offer. I suppose location would be a huge factor in this being something you would prob have to freight ship https://www.ebay.com/itm/NARC-BY-WI...368418?hash=item362284e3e2:g:d7cAAOSwpaxZz~8d many boards only on there for $80 untested I personally would like to have the room in my tiny house for a few odd choices, T2, X-Men(4 player) , The Simpsons(4 player), a full size skee ball(I know, not a video game but an arcade classic), a sit down style pac-man, dragons lair, and prob many others I am not thinking of. Heck I would settle for one of those million games in one cabs if I had a place for it LOL!
If you know how to search Criagslist there are deals to be had. John's Arcade on YouTube has a tutorial on how to search for Arcade games on Craigslist. My Arcade Grail is some Flavor of Pac man but I have no room.
One of my Arcade Grails was a working Planet Harriers Arcade board, which I had purchased at the end of 2015. One of my greatest purchases, plus other Hikaru rom boards I have purchased work on that same board.
My arcade grail is a Space Harrier one. I don't know why it's so uncommon to see, since it was a pretty popular game. When I move to a bigger place I'll definitely get a cab.
I have several arcade games. I have 3 systems: an MVS, a Sega ST-V, and a Sega Model 3. I have 5 games for the MVS, and one each for the ST-V and Model 3. I don't have any cabinets. I have a box that I built with a supergun inside that I use for JAMMA games. It's connected via RGB to my PVM. I can easily swap the board for any JAMMA compatible board; most of the time the MVS is installed. Since it uses RGB, it's essentially the same as a real arcade cab, and I can even stand and play it like a cab. For Model 3 I have a separate setup I made myself. It uses a Sanwa JVS power supply, and has to go through a converter (GBS-8220) to display on my CRT computer monitor. Eventually I want to own a monitor that natively accepts the Model 3's 24kHz RGB output. I may get one of these soon. Virtua Fighter 3 on the Model 3 was one of my "holy grails" for a long time. I was interested in it ever since I played it in an arcade some time in the mid-late 90s. I was really impressed by it at the time. Besides that one time, I haven't ever seen it in an arcade since. So it's pretty awesome that I own it now, and that it's fully playable. All of my MVS games are real, original carts. There are a lot of other MVS games I'd like to own, like Metal Slug 3, Garou: MotW, Over Top, etc. Those are pretty expensive, though.
No, actually it's more expensive than the Saturn version. Also, it has less content than the Saturn version. The Saturn has added content and features, and also it includes the arcade version. I thought about getting the arcade version; it's actually why I got the ST-V originally. But I ended up getting the Saturn version for the reasons I already mentioned. Die Hard Arcade is the only ST-V game I own currently. The ST-V has better RGB output than the Saturn, which is cool.
I have some arcade stuff but no where near as much as I use to (be it CPS2/3 or Naomi or System2x6). Atm I still have a handful of System 2x6 stuff and few System 10 games. I do still have my capcom candy cab but it sadly needs some work (the monitor needs fixing) and since I don't have time to work on it my wife makes me keep it in the locker (I live in a condo). At one time my holy grail was getting my hands on an unreleased game (like the capcom sys 246 fighter that got canceled after a playtest) but I think now I would settle for a capcom CPS Changer and a game just to say I have one. Don't bother. If you said this maybe 5-10 years ago when you could easily get brand new units for practically nothing then maybe but not anymore.
I've been thinking about getting a CPS2. My arcade box would need to be modified, because currently it wouldn't fit. I'd just need to move the power supply.
I think now a days getting into CPS2 isn't a crazy idea. I was in it back before we had Phoenix boards and ultimately that is why I got out of it. I knew I would not have the time to constantly make sure my boards did not kill them selves. =( Owning SFZ2 was always magical since my cabinet is a capcom cab with Q-Sound. It just sounded so amazing.
Besides NARC one of my holy Grail would be a House of the Dead cabinet. So many good memories. I remember them being pretty common back then, too.
My main Arcade Machine is my Raspberry pi 3 running Retropie 4.2. Lakka was a Pain to get going and poorly documented. This and the last retrocore got me thinking about Psikyo. Darku Tenchi was a damned fine game but has anybody ever seen it in the wild? AVGN just did a video there.
Yes, that one. TNT's credited in the last part. Also, link for the lazy: https://www.youtube.com/user/tntamusements
People will probably flame me because of this, but i'm not really a fan of AVGN. If you are interested in Polybius though, make sure to check Ahoy's video. Just don't forget the popcorn, as it's over 1 hour long
