The Anime Game Rule

I'm not sure if this one is universal but it goes something like this.

If I like the Show, the games absolutely SUCK. (Cowboy Bebop, Kenshin, Sailor Moon,Ghost in the Shell)
If the show bores me or I hate it, the games are usually awesome and worth checking out. (Bleach, Naruto, Gundam)

The Only Real exception to the Rule is Macross. Is this the case with the rest of you?

 

Hit or miss for me, Hated those DBZ games and almost all anime fighters, but had blast with Sailor Moon, Magic Knight Rayearth and .hack.

 

I can't think of too many truly BAD Gundam games. Anime Gundam just bores me to death, too much Geo Politics for a show designed to sell toys.

 

Have yet to fully play Ghost in the Shell(ps2). Mostly been playing Fur Fighters ps2 and BloodRayne(debug stuff! *drools* 2.

 

that one ghost in the shell game isnt too bad its on the ps1

but its same with movies, most move to game conversions suck major old mans ass

and almost all game to movie conversions would make Sgt Hartman cry for his momma

 

Not really a rule on me. If I like the anime, its games seem to be fun and worth it. (jojo's bizarre adventure being a great example.)

 

Media companies are total cheap fucks when it comes to merch and other tie-ins, they always go for the lowest bidder for the contract.

Games are no exception, and with anime companies being particularly cheap (just ask the people doing the actual animation there) is no wonder anime games feel so buggy and unfinished most of the time, if not plain half-assed

 

meh, doesn't affect me too much, most of the anime's i like don't have any video games

 

Sword Art Online game sucked.
I Wanted to have multilayer feature and works with Oculus VR.

 

I enjoy the Hajime no Ippo games and anime.

Ghost Sweeper Mikami (SFC)
Ghost In the Shell (PS1)
Hokuto no Ken (ps2 - punch mania arcade)
Gundam Wing - Endless duel (SFC)
Does go go ackman 3 count?
Jump! all stars (DS)

Games I don't like of Anime I like:
Sword of Berserk (DC)
Most other Hokuto no Ken games

Anime of Games that I like:
Persona 4

Anime of games i don't like:
all others

Some series have too many games that are really hit or miss with me, or I don't have an opinion of them one way or another. I probably wouldn't play a game of an anime i didn't like, but who knows... Maybe there's a game out there I like that i didn't even know was based on an anime!
