Probably not unless you own one of those dishes that can pick up many different signals from around the world. You can watch it on-line I think using real player or something like that. You have to pay though.

I gotta ask, whats AVEX? The JPOP channel (sorry, just googled it.)? If its the Japanese satellite channel, you cannot pick it up outside.... Japan. Japanese satellites beam to Japan, the only way you'll pick it up outside Japan is if you're still inside the beam on an island or something. AFAIK there are like 3 Japanese channels which American providers subscribe to (for Japanese in America) these are all like boring International NHK news chans, you're not going to find a specialty channel like AVEX carried over here.

I didn`t know there was such a thing. How much one of those cost, and is it easily avaiable?

    Dish misconception

You can only pick up signals being broadcasted to you so unless you're in the field you can't pick it up with a dish.

By the way, thank you DirecTV for broadcasting your signal into Canada so we can pick it up and watch it for free!

Well, I have DirecTV here in Brasil and sometimes they set up new channels to broadcast some things directly from the U.S. (like baseball and NFL), so I think that we get at least some U.S. channels signal here. I could even pay the regular U.S. DTV monthly fee if I could get the channels directly from there.

You can't , curvature of the earth.

In the us there is a dish network Japanese feed, but you need to either pay $100+ a month or just get a "special" card.

Its all sumo anyway, so don't bother unless you like sumo.

I know a chinese family who got a regular 18inch sattelite and had a provider that got them channels from all over Asia for a nice $50 plus $30 for the regular local cable.

That is what ExpressView is for!:smt023

The P4 cards are VERY close to being hacked and there are people working on it around the clock. The race is on as they say!

Geez who really wants to see that AVEX J-Pop crap, they are raping my ears ;-)

They have "talent studios" all over japan to recruit some new teenie slaves who look good, don't have any talent and are easy to handle (less money and high pressure).

J-Pop is the invention of satan himself, that's for sure ;-) And don't get me started on that hip mixing english with japanese bullshit, geez... :smt011
