Hey, My DS has been very neglected of late- there seem to be no games whatsoever that interest me. Maybe I have not read about the gems. Since it is basically nearing the end of its lifespan, maybe it is a good time to ask - What are the best DS games? My personal list from my limited collection would include Rhythm Paradise (Though I own the JP version) Elite Beat Agents Advance Wars DS The World Ends With You Picross Puzzle League DS ..I wish I owned more that I regard to be must-have titles.
New Super Mario Bros. WarioWare: Touched (not as good as the GBA games, but still pretty good) The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (I haven't played Spirit Tracks but that's probably good too) Nanostray (I didn't like the sequel as much, though it had better graphics) That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
Final fantasy Tactics A2 (Tons of depth and gameplay to be had) The 3 castlevania games Front Mission FFIV FF Revenant Wings Hotel Dusk Pokemon SS and HG And so on There are like a thousand best games for the DS
chrono trigger DS kirby's squick squad(mouse attack) Super robot taisen: OG saga endless frontier SMT: Devil Survivor SMT: Strange Journey Custom Robo Arena Castlevania order of Ecclesia
Seriously? This forum is the last I'd expect to have not seen CONTRA 4. For the love of all that is good and holy get Contra4.
The Ouendan series + Elite Beat Agents, I think it's the game series I played the most during this generation.
Etrian Odyssey series - the best new franchise in many years. Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (but not Spirit Tracks) Mario & Luigi RPG series - these were some quality fun Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow (but none of the other DS installments) Picross DS (but not Picross 3D)
Zelda's a given, and Hotel Dusk's been mentioned already, so I'm gonna recommend the Dr. Kawashima titles (I lost countless hours to the Sudokus included there!), Taiko no Tatsujin and Orcs & Elves.
Yeah, that part was kind of annoying. I actually didn't finish the game because I got so pissed off at that dungeon. The rest of the game was pretty fun, though.
Alice in Wonderland This video game is based on the upcoming Tim Burton/Disney film Alice in Wonderland.
This, probably my favorite DS game ever. Slightly off topic, but does anyone know if they will be releasing Last Window in the US/EU? With Cing being bankrupt I fear it will stay Japan only...
In kind of Alphabetical order, these are in my opinion some of the most worthy games for nintendo DS that are enjoyable, fun, with compelling storyline, good exclusives etc etc. There may be some glaring omissions so if you can halp me it would be nice. In this list are also some games that are expected within 2010 and either are highly anticipated sequels or just games that will definately make it in the list. Final Fantasy IV and Tactics A2 are great options. Both the Nanostray games, but I like the second much better. The Ace Attorney series is, indeed, obligatory for the DS owner. If you Strategy Games, Advance Wars Days of Ruin is spectacular. "Dual Strike" is just adequate. Front Mission and Chrono Trigger are nice, if very similar to their (fucking awesome) source material. Arkanoid DS and Space Invaders Extreme are awesome if you get the special controller from Taito. And yeah, you can't go wrong with New Super Mario. Obviously, Contra 4, Ketsui and Metal Slug 7 are great action games. Also, I've recently started to play "Infinite Space" and it seems to be very, very deep, but very cool. And if you have a GBA Cartridge slot, get FF6, the Super Mario Advance titles, and Phalanx or R-Type III.
