hey guys ive been a ps2 user for years now but never really bothered looking into Modchips. i want to ask what are the best modchip i can get i plan to preserve some for some gaming fun, can anybody help a brother out?
If you have a "phat" PS2, i reccomend getting a network adapter, HDD and soft modding it instead of using a chip Also if its soft modded, you can use ESR to play backups pretty easily (they just have to be patched before burning, iirc it tricks the PS2 into thinking its booting a DVD-Video)
Yeah, softmodding is the way to go if you can track down a network adaptor at a reasonable price. Otherwise I think most PS2 modchips are about the same nowadays. Mostly clones of brands that were once big when the console was current. The good thing is that they're dirt cheap now. Like $4-5, though the site I bought one from recently doesn't seem to stock them any more.
Am I the only one that sees an original Xbox logo on the main page? It changes to a PS logo when I enter the thread though. Odd.
lol i clicked the xbox logo by accident and i changed it to a PS logo but still shows as a Xbox logo...
If it were anyone else, I'd straight out call them a liar... but you! That mysterious avatar You must be undercover!
i dont live in the US and Network adapters are not cheap but i found a sata one i may give that a go. but i personally like having modchips
From what I have seen simply using a HDD with the HDD-OSD is far better than any mod chip well that is if you want to run everything from the HDD but if you also want burnt disks than simply run ESR not sure if ESR works if on HDD tho
