Here is a little quote from the November issue of the Playboy magazine in which John Carmack ansmwers a little 20 question interview. Enjoy: Good old sonic rayer: :smt023 rayer:
Gotta say that by no means is Sonic the best game of all time. If I had to pick I'd go with Tetris easily.
It's true not one person could ever say what the best ever game is. But for sure, Sonic ewould have to be up there, if you pick it it's probably a sensible choice at least.
We probably all have our favorite game and character. But looking at Carmack's games, his choice is pretty understandable. His games are pretty easy (meaning not difficult to handle) which make them pretty fun. For example Doom 3, it looks great and is easy to handle but it is a damn good game. Any other opinions?
I'm wondering what the missus will do if I wonder in with a copy of Playboy, whilst trying to explain it's for a John Carmack article :angry :smt067 :smt071
The really weird/funny thing about Playboy magazine is that inbetween the pictures of skanky women the apparently have pretty decent articles, although I personally wouldn't be caught dead reading one. James Bond writer Ian Fleming first published his tales of the suave superspy in Playboy, and tales like "The Fly" (I believe) and Alfred Hitchcock shorts were common in days of yore as well. It's a pity, I'd like to read the interview with Carmack... :smt009
we all know what you read now, bigsexyolli.... the strangest thing is... that you read playboy. :smt043 :smt043 anyway, why not making the assembler's top games anyway? that could be cool. (but it could finish in a stupid flame war too....)
Sonic 1 is the best game? No way...not in my book. I found the whole series to be rather boring. But that's just me...
Nah, sorry, skanky from me is never a positive thing. I've got little respect for women who take their clothes off for money.
Why don't we do it by process of elimination? We all suggest a game (one each) and then have a poll, take the top five of those and vote again, etc, until we get to the last two, whereupon we choose the winner. Just a suggestion.
Nice idea Hawanja. OK, here is my one. I say that the best game of all time has got to be Phantasy Star On-line. Why? Simply because I wasted an entire year on it plus it was the first true on-line console game. If it wasn't for that we may still be stuck with only on-line PC gaming. Yakumo
