a friend wants to buy an Elite for XMAS. what's your advice, in light of your recent bad luck/karma with regard to your (as good as) deceased XBOX 360?

If he buys one now it will most likely be a jasper. It should be pretty cool. I mean my Falcon runs warm, not hot, so a Jasper has got to be cool.

i think the team that designed the 360 was behind the design of Chernobyl as well

well, i've had mine for about 17 months and no problems with the console (except self-induced) until now. buying a 360 really has been one of the better purchases i've ever made if you consider the entertainment value, how many hours of use, and all the new and interesting people i've met and made friends with. totally worth it imo despite it's problems.

lol, after it RR'd i totally just left it on to heat my bedroom. xD

Hey, I do that in my bedroom!!

360 + LCD TV + laptop = pretty good heating system! And more economical than my 2kW heater, too ;-)

    I never thought of that...

I wish my 360 was still hot sometimes, it did heat stuff up a degree or two.

    My old 360 + 2 other 360s + 2 large men + 3 tv's = not fun in the summer. I don't put off much heat so I'm not counting me.

I just thought about it, it's near sexmas and your 360 is on and off dead. I'm so sorry! I got so lucky on gears 2 launch and getting a replacement. I hope you don't suffer a true tragedy.

And thanks for the good luck. I'll equip it for +5 SPEC.

That sucks to have it die on Sexmas eve. You could always temporarily revive it with a towel like I use to.

    Holy hot damn....

Thats one of the most intriguing thoughts I have heard anyone say in awhile based on Video game assumptions, naw mean?

Think of it... They will all be red ringed over a matter of time.... Thats so scary! :crying:

I think I'm going to buy one and just put it away for a while. Who knows.

Thanks! That was awesome. Totally made my day. That and the fact it's Christmas. :110:
