Is it any good on ps4? I can grab it for 49Euro if i preorder it on some shop instead of the usual 70 euros... Should i bother or just save for Dark Souls 3? (yes money is ALWAYS an issue lately...)
I've heard the beta is filled with hackers. Sadly, I am not surprised, given the nature of the game's multiplayer in those dark zones or whatever they call them.
I put 6 hours into the Beta on PS4 and I loved it. Gameplay mechanics are quite simple but feel good and rewarding. The graphics are nowhere near as good as the early e3 shots but then no real surprises there, it does still look great but I am a bit worried that the lack of environment variety might get old quickly. Performance on the PS4 is flawless, very quick loading times and no framerate drops at all. As for the multiplayer...I think they released the beta to see how it balanced. As a standalone player I got raped repeatedly by teams constantly camping the extraction point so I gave up on the dark zone quite quickly but I can see that with a good team it'll be a lot of fun. I've pre-ordered on the basis that the single player experience seemed worth the money alone.
Is there character customization? How does it play like in a team? You meet up and work together or you signup to be "summoned" is there a decend variety of builds/ways to play?
So the open beta is going on right now. The non Dark Zone stuff is pretty straightforward, but fun. I've been searching around for all the info collectibles I'm also intrigued on the base upgrading system, and how it gives your character more perks. I also have some interest in seeing how those talents and perks play out when they are released.
So I gave the Dark Zone a try... If anything, that area is going to be a major dealbreaker for me, depending on how forced it will be upon us. All it was was one or two groups of 4 just camping the extraction zones. Couldn't even just run past to explore, they just basically trolled the whole time. I dislike forced pvp. This is a shame as I actually rather enjoyed most of the rest of the game. The Hard Modes of the two Mission dungeons were actually rather fun and challenging.
For some reason , i really lost interest in this game. I remember liking it when it was announced, but now it just feels so bland to me. At least it seems the performance is stable across all platforms and there's no crazy glitches and bugs like on recent Ubisoft fuck-ups.
I started playing it in. I like this. The Zone is interesting, but you have to venture out in groups to get protection from the rogues. If you do it's a ton of fun!
So I've racked up 12hrs of play in the retail build now and I'm loving every minute of it. Works quite well as a single player game but when matchmaking works in the main missions it's a lot of fun as fire fights really escalate when there's a few of you. The Dark Zone has been balanced nicely since the beta, I've managed to extract quite a few things on my own but this has often been very late night/early morning when I guess the servers are quieter. Unfortunately I don't have any friends who own a PS4 so I don't get to enjoy team multiplayer very often. If anyone wants to add me as a PSN friend you can find me under the name PocketTim. I play most often on Tuesday evenings GMT.
my psn is karsten_beoulve I'm enjoying the game, wish i had some regular friends since the game is way more fun with a good stable group.
