Well, it has a built-in DC, but it is no Dreamcast limited model. If you do a full list of all Dreamcasts you should include it. If you do a list of all limited editions you should NOT.

    Just my 2 cents...

The Divers is rare enough outside of Japan, Unconfirmed reports of only 5000 of these produced.

I'd absolutely love a Divers 2000. Does anyone have a list or pictures of all the available colours? The only problem is that it appears to use a composite connection instead of RGB for the monitor which is a shame.

Does anyone know where to get the 3rd party replacement shells? I'd love one of the smoke black ones. Someone on eBay is trying to sell them for about £70!

Where are you getting your numbers? 200 R7 models? I doubt it. Other than the numbered models (RX-78, StARS, etc.) the only one that Sega official gave the numbers out for was the Super Black Model. It was initially 200 only, but they got so much interest they did a second print of many more...presumably in the thousands. I got one on release, opened, and am still using it to this day.

I've always lusted after the Pink Hello Kitty model.

One day I'll have one, for sure.

The RX-78 looks sexy, but not sexy enough for a Gundam branded product. Almost Fisher-Price'y in nature.

If anyone tells you that the Black or Silver Versions were limited to 200 pieces then I've personally seen about half of them ever produced either in my shop on on Yahoo.

    And that would be strange.

    Forget about the golden Dreamcast!

As far as i know the golden Dreamcast is a "Pro Yakyuu Contest model Dreamcast" which is limited to 5 pieces. I thought my source for this info was reliable but seems that this info is not true.

Anyway - i know many Dreamcast collectors but no one ever saw this one or got reliable information.

there is only one golden dc. and yes, it is the pro yakyuu contest model. you can find reports on the contest + pictures in japanese magazines like famitsu dc.

so you're right. the number (5 pieces) is wrong.

indeed it is. people also claim that the pearl pink version is 200. but sega jp NEVER gave out such numbers! same for metallic silver and pearl blue.

on the other hand, official sega number for the super black edition is only 100 units!!! seems odd, i know.

typcial example of false information spread around the net: http://info.sonicretro.org/Special_Dreamcast_Models

super black edition has NOTHING to do with the other three d-direct limited editions (pink, blue, silver). the black version was released way before the other three!

on second glance: quoted page says "august 2000" for black and "2001" for the other three, but still claims "The Pearl Pink, Pearl Blue, Super Black and Metallic Silver were all part of the same production round". now wait.. quite a discrepany here. :icon_bigg

maybe someone should write the webmaster of the site about the inconsistency. ;-)

btw, the number for the superblack edition (100!) was published on the official sega d-direct site in 2000. so please don't question it... whereas the webpages for the other three models didnt contain the production numbers. there is just NOT A SINGLE reliable resource in japan or elsewhere in the world which states the 200 pieces per model!

    no, it was 100 units.

    http://www.famitsu.com/game/daily/2000/m06/d27/n03.html

but yes, you're right about the second production run. sega wrote it on d-direct at that time. i dont think they gave out numbers for the second run though. but i might be wrong, maybe you can remember it better... anyway, i read on japanese pages that it was 1000. but since its not official i'd be suspicious.
