I have on older printing of this one, with another cover and stuff. Overall It is a nice read with many infos and good pics and stuff. But don't expect any in-depth coverage with like 1-2 Pages for every system. Also there is little to no obscure stuff (depends on what you call obscure ). I know they added a few more systems since I bought it though. But unless you are only looking for the above mentioned things, it's a good book and fun to read (got the german version)
I have the English edition as in the link above. Overall, it's a great read for a general coverage of most of the popular systems out there. It does make some Euro-centric errors/inaccuracies, and has some slightly mangled translation in places, but it's pretty good! The only downside is the slightly limited replay value after you have read it all the way through.
I have to say the same as everyone else, its a good read, if anything leaves you wanting more. I think they are also working on a book dedicated to game controllers lol Ryan
any other gaming books I should check out? I'm trying to put together a Museum exhibit and These books would be for my research. (I should probably ask some of you to donate if I'm in your area shouldn't I?)
maybe HighScore?...its has alot of one on one write ups with alot of developers in the last 20 or so years, though it has a heavy focus on pc games..... and the ultimate history of videogames by stevn kent is also a good page turner
