The Facebook Conundrum

    That is right, Facebook has to regard users as customers because their presence and participation is what creates their business. No users, no money - therefore, users = customers.

    But I believe it is a very wrong assumption on behalf of the USERS to see themselves as customers, or in other words, to expect the same service as for a product they actually paid for. Facebook needs us so they see us as customers. But we don't need them and we get Facebook for free, so we cannot demand anything. We are free to decide whether or not to use it. The users cannot demand anything because they either get a free social network service or nothing. There's no risk involved, opposed to an actual purchase. You have to trust the product, give them your money and expect this thing to work or else the company will have to make it work.


    And I know I can't ask for more, but a little side-rant. Why is facebook's mobile app so damn shitty? It's a multibillion dollar website and one of the most important brandnames in the world - and their app still sucks ass and is slow as hell. Just seems kinda odd to me that half of their internet presence looks like crap considering this is 50% of their whole product line.
