I finally did pictures of my Famicom Disk System fullset! Games are japanese alphabetically classified (let alone the non-standard boxed games)..i had a hard time locating all of the approx 30 "write only" games, especially with original instructions! Some ones, like Clu Clu Land, are worth 100000Y! All games have matching barcodes, complete with box&instructions,sticker,etc..many are even factory sealed, and i keep them in FDS factory cases (Zelda,Super Mario 2..) Too, I added some extras like the 2 Gold Disks and All Night Super Mario Brothers. Enjoy! Links to the real albums for "big sized" pictures: General Album Famicom Disk system Fullset
Amazing as always Adol! Where were those write only games used for? In those disk writer systems to write the games to empty disks or anything like that? I've been thinking about starting an FDS collection awhile ago, as it's such a neat little add-on but it's so hard when you're in Europe (and you are not Adol )..
Yes,you had to go to stores and use those machines..i have a "replica" in this pic (but i broke the feet),you can see how it looked like. I'm in Europe as well, only been to Japan 3 weeks in my life, that's the challenge man
Well,i have this fullset for years now,but never had time to picture it..same with SMS,i pictured it 3 months ago,but i have it for near a decade..
Thrill of the hunt, and the love i have for a system. I love Nec,Sega,Nintendo, and i think the best "proof" i can do for "thanking" them, for all the pleasure i had playing on their systems all my life is to get every possible game ever made for those systems ^^
No, i don't. I play import japanese games since i'm 10.The main reason being that back at the time (1990),50% of the good games never arrived to Europe/USA, or with 1-2 years delay. I enjoyed playing Super Mario World/SMB 4 in late 90,when Europe got SMB 3 ONE YEAR LATER. Yeah, nobody even believed me i was playing SMB 4 back at the time, because the time delay was incredibly long.. for the SFC, 17 months! Came out on April 1992 in France,17 months after the SFC..such a wait would be unbelievable those days..same for Megadrive, like 2 years as well (October 88 --> end of 1990 in Europe). Then that's for 2 main reasons: - time delay - the fact i wanted to play great games, like RPGs (on PC Engine CD,SFC..) that were NEVER released outside Japan. Such a fantastic RPG like Tengai Makyo 2 at 12 was fuckin' great Even 17 years later and multiple reprints (Gamecube,PS2,DS..) they STILL never translated it! Besides,i started playing video games at 5 1/2, with MSX,so i was into the japanese stuff all from the start But since i got a European SMS at 8, i went for the European SMS fullset, the only PAL one of my 26 (if i'm right?) fullsets. I had a NES too,but i always preferred SMS (I think because most of my buddies owned it as well)
yeah that's my reason for not collecting it. I also don't like collecting cd based games due to how fragile a cd is
Wow... Very cool set! Dont care about the magnetic media thing so much. just try to make them last as much as they can!
I would say no one actually knows how long magnetic or cd/dvd last. I do have my tape for Spectrum from 1989 and they still play like a charm. Also my first burn CD from 1995 still like new. It's all depends how you look after them.
