i was thinking if anyone knows if Sega will stop the releases of new DC games because of his merge with Sammy... i read some rumours about that, even in DC-Scene Im waiting for Baldr Force EXE and i dont want to see the game canceled... Chaos Field also, maybe is not confirmed, but there are possibilities of this last game to be released on DC, so... im a little scared with the Sammy/Sega merge
You have to treat rumors for what they are -- rumors. Look at all the BS that was flying around pre E3. The internet is full of them... you just have to cross your fingers and wait.
Reality Let's face it, the DC is dead in the water. It will never again become a mainstream console. Even if Sega didn't pull the plug early they would have most certainly done it by now. They may not have pulled down their servers but they would have slowed game production and most likely would have started on another system altogether.
Surely, if companies are still happy to release DC games, why should Sega stop them? If I was damn rich (£21million triple rollover on Lotto tonight!!!!) I'd go see Sega. Buy a Katana or 2, one of those multiple GDR burners, all the kit. Set up a games company and employ some talented people to make DC games. And also hunt down some of the unreleased complete or near complete games and see if I could buy the rights and release them. Woo Black n' White on DC (in 2 special boxsets - black or white DC mouse). Why? Cos £21m is a damn lot of cash, and you've gotta do something with it. And this'd be fun, and make ppl happy :smt033 Right, off to shops to get £5 worth of lotto tickets...
Personally I would go see Majesco & Sega and get them to produce a PSone-style mini Saturn and start repressing some games :smt033
That reminds me, every E3 I go to (didn't go this year I'm afraid) I always see Black and White for PSX in someone's booth. . .someone thinks they might publish it. . .never do. . .funny too cause the game looked like crap and ran like crap would run if it could run at all. But. . .never did I see the B&W for DC demo'ed around. I'm pretty sure that if they had a nearly complete PSX version the DC version is out there somewhere. . .but, since I disliked the game I could care less :\
If you were rich and made your money from buisness you would not invest one penny into the drramcast, becuse there is very little money to be made. Rich people stay rich by not taking risks and investing where the return is. If you won the lotto you'd end up broke again because of that kind of thinking. I love dreamcast but sammy is a gambling machine company. They know where the money is at (gambling). Deamcast is not where the money is unless it is integrated into gambling machines (which you will never see in the US)
