That'd be my guess. If it's emulated then the aspect ratio was changed and if not then the TV is likely in Overscan/Cinema mode.
I know why it's stretched out of shape. I was being typically British sarcastic I'm the type of person who can't stand having a 4:3 image stretched to 16:9.
You'd think my TV would have the damn option, but alas, I can't find it.. I never emulate anymore, that's just how my NES looks plugged into the TV. It's never really bothered me that much, so I haven't researched past TV settings. Edit: Actually I'm a dumbass. Apparantly I didn't look hard enough. How's this?
Please name the games I guess the above post was Top Gear (1 or 2) on the SNES. SUPER punch Out and Ray an but what format is a mystery.
I love how colorful Rayman is. I need to play that game again. Based on the color palette it looks like the Saturn version.
The first two remind me of Out Run, but yea I would say Top Gear. Then you have Super Punch Out for sure. Last one is Rayman, which was not SNES. Why must you throw the curveball!
A little more... Ghostbusters - Mega Drive Sonic 3 - Mega Drive Donkey Kong Country 2 - Snes Final Fight 3 - Snes Kaizou Choujin Shubibinman Zero - Super Famicom / Snes The last one Kaizou Choujin Shubibinman Zero is a really underrated and amazing action game that was originally released for Satellaview. I strongly recomend for who likes retrogames
It's the first Top Gear. Great game, but I prefer either 2 or 3000 (depending if I'm feeling futuristic or not =P) And I agree MBMM, DKC2 is my favourite Donkey Kong game of all time.
I have to say Davidjp, for a Japanese CRT those are some quality images. Were you lucky enough to find a TV with RGB inputs? So funny how in Europe RGB inputs are standard but in Japan, a country that loves quality, they are really hard to come by.
That is a Sony Profeel Pro 29hv3 monitor (Aka PVM 2950Q) It's really hard to find one of these in nowadays but not impossible, the best to place to look is Yahoo Auction i bought mine 2 years ago from there But there is a lot Sony Wega tvs with rgb inputs (AV Multi) that you can buy a cable converter RGB AV Multi > RGB 21 pin Example Sony Wega KV-29DS65 with is pretty cheap and amazing image quality http://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/197394825 Cable RGB AV Multi > RGB 21 pin http://page16.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/u79409638 I had one these Tv before upgrade to a monitor, quality image is really great
