Anyone else excited for The Grand Tour? Did monthly subscription to Amazon prime with perks to watch show. Can't wait to see the real top gear crew reviewing cars again this Friday.
I'm an Amazon Prime member here in Japan but will we get the show? I bloody hope so because I've been looking forward to this for a very long time.
As far as I'm aware the show should be avalible to all customers. It be crazy for Amazon not to considering how much money they've sank into this show. It premiers this Friday so you should find out by then.
I hope so. Did a search last night hoping to find a coming soon or something but the search came up empty. Fingers crossed!
Worst case, will be shared online just like Top Gear was. It was the only way I could watch the show in Australia. This country was always 2 seasons behind with ad breaks every 5-10 minutes..
It's a bit harder since this is on a steaming service and not tv. Yakumo have you tried contacting Amazon Japan to get an answer?
Wouldn't actually be. There's many Netflix exclusives that get shared often. It's going to happen, it's too popular not to.
Official page confirmed Japan will be seeing it same time as US, U.K., Aus, and New Zealand this Friday. World wide will be December.
Really? When I looked it said UK and US only. A search on the Japanese Amazon doesn't bring up anything either. I sure hope it is true though. So looking forward to this. On another note I noticed Wheeler Dealers has started up again. Love that show but I'm not too keen on the American production crew. In the last series they really made a pigs ear of the show but it seems the complaints were heard as the first show which aired on the 14th was more in line of the British produced version. I do hope they return to the UK for the next series though. There's just something off about the US produced show. THey tend to skip a lot of the dirty work in favour of showing shinny stuff and more chat between Mike and Ed.
I like Wheelers and Dealers myself but im guessing producer are trying to make the show more appealing to the US by including typical aspects of a US based reality show. I believe the discovery channel shows it here. Whats funny is the US version of kitchen nightmares is really trashy compared to the original UK version. But I would imagine the original is looked as a trashy show over there. Most people I know don't seem to like the original UK version of Kitchen Nightmares as they find it too tame and somewhat boring. Go figure. While regular page now just shows option to stream it all news outlets are reporting Japan included in initial launch. Well Yakumo get ready to watch it this weekend. Will say it will be hard to wait each week for a new episode as that was part of the agreement Amazon had with the crew but with 12 episodes its worth the wait.
Well first episode out and must say they still got it. Pretty much Top Gear without the name and a higher budget. Don't want to spoil too much but first challenge/review is very interesting and brings about what tech can bring to super cars. Shows off to a real good start and can't wait for the next episode.
Watched it a few hours ago with a few beers. Loved it.! We have the choice of a subtitled version and a dubbed version! Of course I watched the subbed version. Also ripped it to me harddrive https://twitter.com/RetroCoreYakumo/status/799587206251704320?s=09
I didn't even know you could do that with streaming. Seems like the challenges will be less restrictive based on first episode.
You can't but I play it on my Emulation PC which is connected to my video editing PC via HDMI. This allowed me to basically capture the stream just as if I was capturing game footage result, a HD rip of The Grand Tour. The original rip was 50gb so I re-encoded it to 30fps 720p which got it down to 2gb. Best of all there's no notable difference between the Amazon stream and my rip in terms of quality.
