Saw a article about it on Gamespot. The only thing I can tell is: -It's another handheld -It looks crappy -Tiger is a sister company (and we ALL know what happened when tiger created games) -it may share the same fate as the N-Gage... Seriously, what the hell is that thing?
Are the movies on the Gizmondo site actually in-game footage? If so, that ain't half bad....at least for a portable. The rally game physics seem pretty decent the way the cars are bouncing around. Oh it's totally doomed though, lol, $419..... I mean yeah it has GPS and a camera and blah blah blah, but no one really cares. Anyone willing to drop $419 on a handheld probably owns a digicam and a GPS reciever already.
Its a totally whack PC styled handheld that doesnt appear in any shops ive been in :drinkers: Graphics seem smart, has some good looking games but tbh its already dead on it's arse.
Saw it @ ECTS / EGN with the other ASSEMbler chaps if I remember I even have a few promos from it knocking around my bedroom floor :-D
I tried it early last year, I guess before it was finalized. I picked it up but I couldnt even stand 30 seconds with it. What a piece of crap it was. I REALLY hope they did some MAJOR improvements on it before it was released. Shiggsy
Just saw the graphics for it...Good quality...But for 450 bucks? It looks ok, but not work a damn computer
The gizmondo looks like another handheld that will just die as soon as it's released. I'm not counting on it getting any shelf space in the US, it may make a blip in the UK. With both the GBA, DS and PSP on the market at the same time, unless it has one of the big publishers behind it, this is just another one that will die.
Giszmondo Apparently Gizmondo will be marketed more than I thought, while shopping around London yesterday for PC Engine and FX games. There was a store not to far from the Apple Store in Regent Street, with a white display something like here will be the home of Gizmondo with the Gizmondo logo!!!!???? :smt042 Strange isn't it? Apart from that the Apple store is very nice and so packed but not Ipod shuffle yet :-( Sabre
Agreed. The handheld market in the UK doesn't seem to be anything like as prevalent in older people as I perceive the market in the States to be, although obviously I don't have anything much beyond online experience to back that up: only spent a couple of weeks in the US (interestingly the first GBA I saw was on the plane out there). Nobody I know has a handheld - although the vast majority of them own consoles. It's still very much seen as a "kiddy" thing, don't know if it's like that elsewhere...
They've considered putting some games onto the system, i'm not sure if anything will actually come of it. They want to spread themselves into the handheld market, but can't exactly partner with either Sony or nintendo. PocketPC devices are so scattered that they're not a good option either.
