Reminds me of the roads in Kingston, New York. I had a lot of fun up there with my 5,000lb Lincoln Continental. That thing is surprisingly nimble for a car that heavy. It just had a hint of understeer in corner entrance.

What's a Subaru Justy?? A crappy Kei car I guess.

Yeah, that's not a real mountain road but close enough to give people an idea. When I go further in to yamaguchi (toyota -cho) I'll do some cool high speed mountain road driving.

What car is it that you drive? I hope it has ABS and AWD if you drive like that in the rain :p.

I've never heard of Deo Deo... But then again i've only lived here for 2 years. Another reason I hate Tokyo: no place to keep a car, so my newly acquired Japanese drivers license is useless. I feel just a bit of jealousy.

The Subarau Justy was a subcompact car that Subaru did, although they seemed to have dropped the model range in Japan at the end of last year. Still it lives on in the rest of the world. See the pictures below.

I look forward to some real mountain roads rather then the quiet drive through the village, I mean I could do that on a bike (and probably get up to the same speeds. :p )

    Hang on a minute....

The Justy (2007 model onwards) was just a rebadged Daihatsu... :p

It's a AWD Subaru Impreza sports wagon. It has ABS but I thought all cars now have ABS. The thing to watch out for on the Impreza and Mitsubishi Evo is the computer system. If that goes down so does EVERYTHING :eek:h: I'll be taking the car for it's 1st M.O.T. on Sunday.

You want to get out of Tokyo mate. I do miss it in ways but I'm far happier with the freedom living in a smaller city provides.

You'll see some nice stuff in the future. I couldn't really go fast on that video because of the rain and pedestrians. Mind you I was still doing 65kmp at most points when the limit was 30kmp.

Oh yes, I know that crap. Never saw the Subaru one but I have seen the Daihatsu model. That rebadging thing goes on a lot in Japan. Nissan sell Mitsubishi's small car, the EK Wagon under the name of OTTI aimed at the woman driver. Mazda sell Suzuki's Lapin under a different name as well. Again aimed at the woman driver. Finally Subaru have just started selling the box looking Toyota Caroller under another name. Why? I hate all of those box type cars. Ugly pieces of crap and handle like crap as well.

Very cool video. I enjoyed it more for the scenery of a small mountain town in Japan, than I did for it's driving (no offense just thought the visuals were more interesting) Nothing like that in America (at least where I've been)

It's a great serise, but for god sakes watch the hong kong sub, the american dub is awful and they censor some story elements as well as use different effects and music.

Yakumo I must admit the show really does capture the road closely. Ever thought taking your suburu for a race at night on that road?

Not on that road mate, it's too dangerous because of the homes down the side of it but I have done so on a real mountain road in the middle of no-where. The only problem on those roads is that there are no lights at all! It's pitch black surrounded by trees and the side of a mountain on one side while on the other you have a massive drop. The best time to race s in the early hours of the summer morning. It's light enough to see yet there's nobody around. The best areas are so far out that you can't even pick up the radio on the car stereo in most areas.
