Managed to snag this cartridge a while back; it's an updated conversion by DVS Electronics of the unlicensed King of Fighters '99 game for Mega Drive. It adds back Cammy, separates the buttons for weak/strong attacks, and replaces all the backgrounds and BGM's with content from other SNES games. Apparently it was only distributed in the Brazilian martet. Thanks to Barver for locating the cart and D4S for defeating the protection scheme so it's playable on emulators and flash carts.

A pretty shit game based on the same jerky SNES engine of previous fighters, but still interesting.

    Update:

I was in the process of inserting a SNES header into this ROM so that it would load properly in a flash cart (namely a Powerpak and Everdrive) since both of them require the header information that a real SNES or copier doesn't. After trying a few things unsuccessfully D4S told me that the area of the ROM that is normally where the header information is stored is actually space used by game code that can't be overwritten.

He has managed to restructure the game so that the proper header information has been inserted to work on a flash cartridge, and in the process has fixed the graphical glitches on projectile attacks and the 2p select screen. The download link and file name is still the same.

Unfortunately the cartridge died soon after being dumped :(

I'm Barver :) And Tchoin from these forums bought it for me, so thanks to him as well :D Like all SNES pirates, it's not just the Brazillian market but it seems generally to be all of South America where these things are distributed. Have yet to see them outside of that region.

I think it's run by d4s, a member here. I've been playing a Mario Kart hack of his called Mario Kart R, it's very impressive and one of the best ROM hacks I've seen.

I really hate the way the site is set up though. No direct links to sections just random keyword links. Don't like that at all. Also it's hard to find information on the site. I want to know more about thie Ultra 16 thing but can't find anythingthat tells me what it does or what it is :(

Exactly. Unseen64.net is this same way too, but I tried telling them in the suggestions area and the members attack me like I'm being a jerk.

Glad to see the game got dumped and now everyone can enjoy it  (even though the game is crap :p)

Finding pirate games in South America is easy as pie, and as Bramsworth says it's not only in Brazil. I'd say Paraguay>Brazil==Argentina>Uruguay would be the order for the density of pirate games, anyway with Uruguay being the last, it's flea markets are full of pirate games, mostly famicom and SNES (Argentina has lots of Genesis pirate carts).

If I recall correctly, another pirate SNES cart dforce has released in his site, "Picachu", came from Uruguay as well, being z_killemall the one who got it for him. I've seen that cart like 4 or 5 times here, I also got a boxed copy of it for Bramsworth a while back.

Well, that usually happens with blogs, and the fact that you can't find much information is because there is not much actually, as this is a re-launch of the site, without all the entries of the last one.

The Ultra 16 iirc, was a special SNES/SFamicom modded hardware made by dforce in small quantities, which played any game region, had different 50/60hz outputs, and various other perks.

The rumour I heard was he had lots of preorders for the system and couldn't supply all the buyers and got into some kind of trouble for that, hence the disappearance of his website.

Just searched "Ultra16 site:http://www.dforce3000.de/" on Google.

Unless of course you were ironic with your post, in which case I say: Well played, sir.

Thanx. What type of protection did the original cart have that needed to be cracked? and could one write a extension for a emu to play it without being cracked?

Ironic indeed. I do stil think the system of links is awful though. But as pointed out, that's what happend with a blog. I had no idea it was a blog though.

I bought my entire collection of snes games from a video store that closed down.

I'm flooded with those pirates games, most of them with their "original" boxes that I had never heard anybody else having them.

Indeed, if you've got any interesting pirates you want to let loose I'd more more than happy to take them off your hands :D
