I remember SEGA usa saying there would be a special suprise in the box for the person who bought the "last" dreamcast, and I think they said this for saturn. rumor is that it's a gold system, but it sounds too far fetched. Anyone know what sega did for the last dreamcast that was so "special" the mentioned it in an interview?
Dont think anyone really knew in the end. Aparently in america the person had a letter that entitled them for every single game released however if that were true the box hasnt been opened or he has never spoken up about it... (neither have sega.) www.dreamcastgallery.com has a picture of a golden dreamcast though....
never heard about that..... damn, i already have a dreamcast, but there's a shop here that still sells new ones...temptating!
Incidentally, what was the last Saturn game in Japan? And Dreamcast? Come to think of it, what was the last PAL Dreamcast game?
Last saturn game? Yukyu Gensokyoku Perpetual Collection, released 7th December 2000. Last playable game? Final Fight Revenge, released 30th March 2000. The only other game released in 2000? Roommate Ryoko Inoue : complete Box, released 16th March 2000. Last Sega game? Sonic 3D - Flickies Island, released 14th October, 1999 (the last game released that year too....). Dreamcast is still going, so....
Well, no more Dreamcasts are being made. I thought they'd stopped selling games now? Other than homebrew releases, which I don't count. Anyway, back to the topic..... http://dreamcast.ign.com/articles/099/099082p1.html http://www.consoleuniverse.co.uk/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=202 Read this for speculation: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=47577&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 http://www.ipgn.com.au/forum/archive/index.php/t-436.html http://www.cdrom-guide.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-35170 So, either someone bought it at the Dreamcast's final $49.99 price, or a magazine gave it away. If they went with it. Hmm, well this looks quite official: http://66.34.113.184/articles/swirlvision/718.asp So, who has Gamepro issue 163, to prove that it was signed by the whole development team and included every Sega game (55 games)? It was certainly a US Dreamcast, it appears.
I saw a scan of the GamePro issue which claimed to give away the last produced Dreamcast console. It was just a signed console and i'm not 100% sure if it came with all released games. There WAS a scan over at DreamcastHistory - i think Bert Hardy should still have that scan. The golden Dreamcast is not the last produced Dreamcast. It's a jap. LE model (Pro Yakyuu Team Edition) and is limited to 5 pieces.
Last DC game I heard of was Puyo Puyo Fever, last year. I used to know that. I have many an Edge from 2001-2 so I'll check them this evening if I remember. PSO Ver. 2? I dunno. Sega Europe will still send you DreamKey, but that's not really a game...
Fresstyle Scooter was the last of the BigBen final releases to slip through, in UK at least. I don't think it was released in other countries in EU so in those places, likely Evil Twin. PSO ver. 2 was the last SEGA-devved game released in Europe for DC. For anyone who - amazingly for this board - isn't aware DC releases are still coming out, they are. I'm surprised some people have apparently completely missed mention of COS II, Psyvariar 2, Chaos Field, Baldr Force EXE, KOf 2002/PPF DoriKore, on these boards of all places, not to mention Yakumo's regular sale threads for sega direct edtiions of said games, and not to mention the recent hoopla over Triangle Service's SOS for Trizeal.
