I wonder if there's anything left of it... MGS Concept-video of Metal Gear Solid: Metal Gear Solid - Early Production Demo (1996) Metal Gear Solid trailer (E3 1997). The epic, memorable trailer. Can you spot all of the differences? MGS2 Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty - Early Production Demo (2000) The E3 2000 trailer. I fondly remember being stunned by the screenshots in EDGE. ECTS 2000. Almost the same as the E3 trailer. No subtitles, different ending of trailer MGS3 First steps in the direction of MGS 3 Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater trailer (E3 2003). Some footage of this can still be seen in the game's actual pre-credit video
Judging from the video it looks all pre-rendered? I could be wrong but none of it screams in-game to me... I know there was a brief point where it was going to be on the N64 but development quickly switched to the PS1.
I have an old demo of MGS that featured a slightly earlier helipad/tank hangar [I picked this up from NY in '98] ... there's also a video on youtube somewhere featuring beta items from MGS3
Yes, the concept video (1996) definitely is, but the E3 trailer (1997) is in-game. Also, the two screens I posted are in-game, and are in a very early development stage (probably from the end of 1996)... ;-)
It seems to only be a rumor; I think they were unintentionally referring to Hybrid Heaven. Not saying that it's impossible, just that I don't recall Konami or Kojima ever directly confirming development on the N64. Also beta codec Snake creeps me out a little (5:35):
What are sources for first two pictures in this thread? I googled this images and found this and this. There isnt main source
I remember the rumours at the time ... I feel it somehow eventually became Slicon Knights' 'MGS: Twin Snakes' on the GC
Found it by complete accident. I believe the pictures were linked on a site which contained the PC Demo. LOL Thanks for the links. I believe so, yeah. There seems to have happend a lot in a very short period of time. And thanks Prometheus, for the video.
No problem. I found out that unused song was used during the intro elevator scene in the MGS pilot disc. Also that odd looking codec Snake was actually used in the pilot version, as well another codec face while wearing the scuba gear. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zx2dgVKYWWU It's only a very tiny snippet and being captured from a camera on a TV screen but look at the 01:27 mark,.Very early, barely completed MGS2 prototype?! What's the clip from?, it's the first i've seen of it
I'm not positive so don't quote me on it, but I think the original footage is from The Document of MGS2. I vaguely remember seeing alpha footage of MGS2 while watching one of the extras.
