America is about making fun of the political party you're not affiliated with. United we stand god bless the USA
Truth'd. Although, I tend to focus my mocking on the extreme people OF BOTH SIDES, despite supporting the Democratic Party because their policies are better for us. (I'm unaffiliated though.. Don't want statisticians or anybody thinking I agree with them or liberals on absolutely everything.)
Yes, yes, this is not my own idea or design. It's the same crybaby from the "Official seal of the United States Democratic party" from 2000. But you know what? Turn about is fair play. I've had to endure people calling me all kinds of names over the last 8 years for my political views, coward, traitor, someone even called me a "terrorist" once becasue of some artwork I did had a burning flag on it. One time I got in a fight with a drunk ex-marine becasue I had an anti-war sticker on my car. My own father has spent 8 tours overseas, in fact he just got re-married but couldn't take a honeymoon becasue he had to ship out to Iraq, AGAIN... So yes, I am very happy to see the pendulum swing back towards the left here for a little while. Just glad this election is over, the conservative stranglehold on our government is broken, and people in this country are finally starting to grow some balls.
I do, shame we don't see it in America. A choice of 2 people to vote for, both of which had to raise over $100 million to win the top spot for their party, then God knows how many more hundreds of millions to convince people to vote for them. Biased media telling people what to think. Then crooked voting practices where votes are discarded based on mispellings of names or small typos that are the result of some clerk in a government office. Then to top it off, a State based voting system to win seats, instead of the popular vote. What a farce.
I hate it when people say Bush is a conservative. About the only thing Bush is conservative on are the issues that really don't matter that much, and those are social issues. A true conservative wouldn't have increased the size of the Department of Education (actually, a true conservative would have done away with it), a true conservative wouldn't have signed in the Department of Homeland Security, a true conservative wouldn't have been so fiscally irresponsible, a true conservative would not have gone to war without the consent of Congress, as it it Congress' power to declare war and not the President's. I used to think, "Oh, Bush is a Republican and so he mush be conservative", but as I've gotten older (and smarter), I've realized that this is false. I don't align myself with a party, I align myself with values... true conservative values. In the beginning I was mostly in favor of Mitt Romney, but looking back I believe the former candidate who really embodied the Conservative message was Ron Paul... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5y6An3X9jic I think we can all agree that he has a real point with the statement he makes at 1:20... If only more people would have taken his message to heart.
Cynthia McKinney actually got more votes than Ron Paul, and she is batshiat insane. Ron Paul might have an interesting message but most people that support him seem to be conspiracy types and other undesirables, and he himself seems a bit...off.
Yeah, which was a damn shame... but he did have a small but passionate grassroots conservative following who were just sick of the supposed "neo-con" republicans in power who were resorting to slapping layers of bureaucracy on top of our problems making them worse, starting wars like old hardline democrats, and the frivolous spending... or maybe that's just me.
Hawanja mate, I got your back man. And you know I would vote for the democrats, if I were an American. So I agree with you, and Hawanja. Fuck those people who has called you names, and you being a traitor is the biggest motherfucking lie I have heard about you. Hawanja you are one of those I admire. You say the truth about so many things, that if you ever get in trouble about your sane points of view. Then I got your back, I hope your father gets back safe from Iraq. And Alien Workshop ? I just plain and simple hate Bush for the reasons, I am not going into. Since I have already been there with postings. And I hope that is cool with you. Since Bush to me, has hurt the image of USA. In many extreme cases, and let us just say. I am not happy about my own government has clapped their hands every time Bush did something, and I think I have posted about the horrible stuff. That my government went "A OK" with when it comes to Afghanistan war and what not. That is what the documentary "Den Hemmelige krig" (The Secret War) was all about. So I hope you are cool with me about these things. And we aren´t going into a war because of different points of view about those things. Ok ?
This is perfect writing. I totally agree with you. People should stop being so critical about partys and stuff, and vote for the people they think it's best for the job. Chris Rock said it perfectly too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2c7ZZNcWsA Of course he ends up with a joke, but the message is there.
All too true, all too true. The Bush people are not conservatives in any sense of the word. Thing is, if we really would have had a "real" conservative (cough RON PAUL cough) then I would have gladly voted for them. There are four things I voted for Obama for: 1) End the war, or at least begin the process of ending it and withdrawing troops, whatever form that may be 2) Stop torture, extraordinary rendition, and any practices/standing orders thereof 3) Stop the practice of secret prisons ala Guantanamo or keeping enemy combatants aboard ships, permanently in bases on foreign soil, etc. 4) Environmental clean up, giving the EPA some real teeth again to prevent things like a continent sized island of plastic bottles from forming the pacific, etc. If we would have had a conservative who would have pledged to do those things I would have voted for them. Instead, they gave us a moosekilling Jesus freak and a guy who voted against his own anti-torture bill. Anyway, before this thread gets out of hand, just want to say I hope the people out there who voted for the other guy aren't too bitter. Just becasue he lost does't mean you should give up working for what you want, that's what makes this country great.
Bush's beliefs stem from an offshoot of conservatism called "neoconservatism." Lots of good info here on that: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neoconservatism
Someone after my own political heart  I was wanting Paul or Romney to get the nod as well. We can only hope for a 2012 run by Paul. While neither are perfect, I think the two party system sucks and we need a new third party voted in. The last time a third party won the ticket Abe Lincoln and the Republicans won...and that was oh so long ago. If I had gotten my ballot in time I would have voted Barr this time around, as Libertarian is the CLOSEST to what I personally believe...although I differ with them on some things as well. But bravo, nice to see another like minded individual
Wait 8 years ago that was the Democrat Logo...... I r Confused. Conspiracy theories tying Obama to the Illuminati are already popping up on You Tube. I reply to those videos with this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TqMwI6o95mo Go Get em Barrack
No, that wasn't the Democrat's logo, of course that wasn't the Democrat's logo. Fuck's sake, get some common sense. It was a pisstake. Honestly.
