I think Special Edition versions encourage developers to hold back on game features and free updates. That's bad in my book!
yeap. We don't need an excuse to collect new things though. 'Forceful Collection' is kind of artificial in my book, sorry
So the one time a company actually listens to an online petition, it's for something nobody really cares about, that's a safe bet for the company anyway? Colour me surprised.
While that may be true to a certain extent I think the introduction of downloadable content has done far more damage in this area.
"Collector's Editions" aren't worth shit these days. I bought a sealed Collector's Edition of Prey the other day for $20, and how long has it been out now? Besides, if they release a Collector's Edition I'll have to buy it as soon as it comes out.
The "Collectors edition" of Halo 2 is more common than the regular version. Also, I think that super deluxe edition of Halo 3 (The $130 or so version) will be common because a lot of the gamers that game is marketed to couldn't get their moms to get it for them, unless they were really spoiled.
