As a game collector i go to local fleamarkets to look for games and consoles. a few years back i found my first Phillips In2It , Tried to find some info on it on the net ,however at the time there was little to no info on it to find. Nowadays there is a lot of info on the net , however some of this info looks to good to be threu Some speak of 100 units , i think there are more I found thirteen in total ,some loose some boxed and some brand new Maybe because i live in the Netherlands near Eindhoven where the main office of Phillips was settled. In the middle of the area where the phillips employees live (phillips used their employees to test the In2It) they might be prototypes but there where boxed games and some accessorys , at least a nice case to keep the cards in I have made pictures of my In2It stuff for you to see I would like to know if these things where found somewhere else Maybe in the Netherlands of in other countrys If someone has info on these obscure things ,it would be great if you shared it here http://imgur.com/a/nEOf0#14
intresting system ! and since you have 13 i think you are right they sound sorta easy to find at your location also someone is trying to sell one on ebay for a crazy price lol http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Phillips...1013867451?pt=Video_Games&hash=item3f19af6fbb
"crazy price" = Def: a price i can`t pay even if i want. I know personally one of the Phillips engineers involved in the project. The console was never released to general public. There were a pre-release batch of prototype units. Five finished units (with clearly states serial numbers, factored in Hungary) were used on a study in Finland. The 100 units is just a tentative number, is very hard to know how much units are out there and difference between one and another. It can be compared with the VOCAMASTER GP2X F300. It was never released to general public , and was used just for test purposes in Korea during a project to spread english language. If you think a boxed unreleased , made in Hungary, complete , and that only appeared on ebay 4 times cost less than 350 euros, ok.. let´s get a GBC and start collecting Pokemon game carts. If anybody here has a IN2IT FULL BOXED, with 2 boxes (yes , the small orange and the big red one) , complete, working, with stylus, original 2 cards, original memory battery, unused and only used for test condition, and numbered, if ANYONE here has exactly what i described and want to sell it.... i personally will pay 550 USD just send me a PM.. anybody? I a offering IN PUBLIC 500 usd for a similar unit than you see on ebay.. if NOBODY has a unit in that condition to sell it to me on this forum, is evident the price is not crazy at all right? So , better don´t talk about things you ignore. I am sure i can get an EPOCH GAME POCKET COMPUTER here if i offer 400 usd, i am prettysure i can get a BOXED GAMATE here for 300 USD... 2 rare handhelds of course. Ok.. let´s compare. If the in2it is common as a purple GBC i am pretty sure i will have tons of pm soon in that time of crisis, right? I will update with the results. Better be silent and allow people suspect you are a fool.. than speak and make people 100% sure about it. Of course you can travel to a specific town in Netherlands and found 20 in a store if employees used to live there.. i can travel to China as well and find 50 Chess King .. or i can travel to Brasil and find 20, 30 boxed Cougar Boys if i live near MANAOS free zone. And if you go to some town in Colombia , evade guerilla and enter jungle COCA cost is just 25 USD per Kg. In the USA you will not get COCA for 25 USD kg. , right? So , is useful to remind that origin cost is not worldwide cost and the fact that the gasoline is free in Kuwait don´t make it free in the US, right?
this other person has 13 of them i seriously doubt they all cost fenix 350 euros plus for them all a piece and why this system is intresting i am not a hardcore collector so its appeal is limited to me and yeah i have paid 649 dollars for a console once just to make a midnight launch for a system as cool as this system appears it that it only has 7 or 8 games and what if the thing breaks where on earth do the spare parts come from since its a sorta prototype it appears it was not far from retail due to the packaging any chance that the company who made this thing has a shipping container or factory full of near retail ready ones somewhere over that neck of the woods ? they just seem too close to retail quality time will tell if theres another box of these somewhere i guess =P
In my opinion rarity and value are 2 different things , value has something to do with supply and demand , if something is really wanted and there are not many of them ,the value will rise. I do believe the In2It is rare , they are prototypes ,however i dont think they are really sought after. I would like to know if more collectors own a In2It Ps: I am going on a vacation now , so i will not be able to respond the next week
I agree with you. I paid 800 usd and 400 usd for my 2 PALMTEX SUPERMICRO SYSTEM. Want to know price stated on the box? 2.99 USD!!! Not original price, no. Price from a current used games store. And both came to me from the same place in the States. So it seems a Palmtex is not SO HARD to find in some places in the US. Same can we say about ENTEX ADVENTURE VISION. But of course you can bet these units will climb over 1000 usd if any appears at ebay... A GLOSSY GREEN GP32 is not so hard to find in Korea... try to find one of these outside Korea An EPOCH POCKET GAME COMPUTER or any of its games is not so hard to find in Japan.. try to find one of these in America or Europe. In fact here in Uruguay you can find a Sega Nomad, a Sega Game Gear or any vintage Sega Model for coins. Why? Well, Sega used to have a good importer at these times and imported more than necessary. Sega sold not same as Nintendo here. So , lot of unused Sega stuff here. What it means? Nothing more than if you want a SEGA NOMAD new and boxed, you need to pay 300 to 400 USD at Ebay or you need to pay a ticket to fly Uruguay and search all the country to get one of these by 30-50 usd. Tiger 99x series: i paid near 200 usd for each of my units. I know you can find these in a LOT of stores in the US just for 19.90 till today. Once again: and the wee is free in Jamaica, and the oil is free in Kuwait, and the caviar is cheaper than bacon in CASPIO SEA , Rusia. That´s why i think sometimes to TRADE in gaming business is better than to sell or buy because something not so hard to find in your area can be trade with another collector for something not so hard to find in his specific area. So both get valuable items.
i know what the in2it looks like if i ever see one over here which is 99.9999999% unlikely to find one in Australia the odds are certainly higher over there in your side of the world as for a Gamate i live in Australia and never seen one and i heard they were released here so i am guessing they are rare handhelds no matter where you live =s
i bought this IN2IT from ebay also for a little less price than in the auction but simply because it is worth to me ... i never seen another in2it for sale and as i am collecting Philips i simply wanted to add it to my collection ... i hope the shipment arrives soon.
