It seems the violent assaults over PS3s arent over: A 31-year-old San Francisco man was stabbed to death Monday night in a dispute over a Sony PlayStation, authorities said Tuesday. Hani Attia was killed about 9 p.m. at Seventh and Market streets by a man who apparently took the PlayStation from one of two women trying to sell it. The women chased after the man, and one of them got it back. Attia confronted the man who took the device. In a scuffle, Attia was stabbed. His friends took him to Saint Francis Memorial Hospital, where he died. The attacker fled. What I dont get is why this attia guy had to confront the guy if the two girls had got their PS3 back.... I'm sure if the story was man gets stabbed over $600 it would have probably not got a mention or if it was Man stabbed over expensive piece of AV equipment, no one would have cared enough to report the story. It is very sad but lets be honest it would have been unlikely that the guy would have stolen it to go home and play motorstorm, more likely he would have taken it and sold it for what ever he could have, knowing that selling it would be easy.
Yeah when stuff like this gets reported it sounds like the console is good enough to kill for...but in reality it's just a chunk of cash to whemover is stealing it.
The Wii is a "Killer" system, too. Remember that "Hold your Wee for a Wii" contest? Now that you think about it, if Nintendo didn't change the name of the Wii to Revolution, that woman may still be alive. Of course there tons of other factors involved, but still.
Yeah, but then we would have had the "Start a Revolution for a Revolution" contests which would have had a bit more bloodshed... :rambo:
more publicity for sony..... and although terrible cirucmstances, it ultimately benefits Sony as its free advertising.. (sick way of looking at it but true sadly...)
to add to this just yesterday three men went to confront the person who stole their PS2. in the end of the three was shot and died another was injured. I dont know people but silly me isn't that why we have police and what they get paid for? and for the right wing group maybe we need a law banning sony since there systems increase violent crime.
I'm sure if there were just Nintendo consoles in the world then violent crime would go up as would the suicide rate.
You're talking about the guy in that college right? Is ironic that he was studying criminology yet commited such a dumb crime...
