If you thought man-faye was weird (or more like gross) here's the new stage in fiction-character-to-reality weirdness: a hobo who lives in seattle and goes around in a LoZ Link outfit. Link is a heavyset young man who is often seen between Capitol Hill and lower Queen Anne, always wearing a dark green tunic, a brown WWF-sized leather belt, huge custom-made tan leather boots, and little green cap He goes around with an old man he (or some people) say is his father. Aparently he and his dad dont have any in common with the real Link or any of the LoZ characters since both are know for being very rude, saying stuff without any sense and being specially aggressive towards gay people. Guest Last Days once had the honor of sharing the #7 Metro bus with Link and his older gentleman friend, who spent the entire ride ranting and raving about poor people needing to get jobs. As a finale, Link pulled from his backpack what appeared to be a firearm at first but was actually a collapsible metal shovel, unfolded it, and began to wave it around, scaring the living Christ out of fellow passengers. I have a friend who was trying to write a profile of the kid and his dad for a gaming magazine. She interviewed them. Everything went well up until the dad started yelling around about the gays. He started yelling at my friend "You're one, right? One of those lesbians?" and kept on about it until she left in tears and confusion. Man I'm glad I'm far from being a Zelda fanboy, specially with this guy on the loose. Anyway, there's a fanclub or something at MySpace. You can see more photos of the crazy-ass hobo and his even crazier father there, but you'll need an account. PS: we meed a triforce icon for this thread
What a nut case ! But why dress like Link? Is it just a coincident? Maybe he wants to be Robin Hood? Yakumo
Dunno, I was going to ask him but he told me I was a SEGA fagg... Just joking, maybe he has a mental disorder (really? ) related with childhood memories or some crap like that, since he is in theory old enough to have gone trough the 8bit gen and the first zelda games. What is weird is that old guy. I've never seen a hobo going around with his dad...
Link isnt exactly what I'd call the manliest of characters, if you catch my drift. He sort of reminds of all those supermodel guys who are gay almost 99% of the time out in Hollywood or whatever. I kind of think this should be in off topic, since the only thing in common with this guy and games is that he cosplays as Link and has some deep seated infantile hostility towards gay people. I'd just leave them alone, it wouldnt be any of my business to criticize someone for what they did or believed in as long as they didnt try to cram their opinions down my throat.
All of you do realize that you're looking at the next posterboy for videogame violence when he finally snaps.
Nah, sadly nobody gives a shit about hobos. For example, did you know a lot of hobos are ex-marines/soldiers? some are even from the Iraq war. But, do you hear anything about that in mass media? or someboy saying that there must be something wrong inside the army if some of their former warriors end like that? Nope, not at all, nor will anyone say something about this guy, cuz as most people say "hobos are just bat-shit fucking locos"
