Well, I have never heard of that cartoon, and I am quite familiar with H&B cartoons.

It's not a cartoon, WDK. The Banana Splits where the hosts of the show. We had it in the UK during the 70's. I remember watching Scooby Doo on that show.

Tra la la, la la la la, tra la la, la la la la...one banana, two bananas, three bananas, four, five bananas, six bananas, seven bananas more! (repeat)

The theme tune to my childhood.

Well, I had no idea . That the Teletubbies ancestors was an LSD trip gone bad, but it is no wonder why those three little fuckers are far out too, or is the Bananas in Pyjamas ancestors ? since it makes sense. Even though it doesn´t make that much sense. Ok I am tired, and pretty much fucked in the head, so I will hit the bed. Sleep tight, and goodnight .

Many of their skits were filmed live at Coney Island in Cincinnati shortly before it was demolished/replaced by King's Island. Saw their stage shows many times as a young lad, though I'm sure that the "performers" in the costumes varied from day to day.

In case you haven't figured it out by now, they were supposed to be a spoof on the Beatles and/or Monkees.

Was a little before my time, but I enjoyed the the show. Cartoon Network use to show reruns of the original Banana Splits at really odd hours. Like 4 or 5am. They also use to show alot of campy clips edited from it on Space Ghost Coast to Coast sometimes.
