The sad state of snes emulation

    Well, the SNES is emulated pretty well on even the humble GBA, which has very little processing power. Just shows what a little optimization and some neat tricks can do;

    GBA only runs as well as it does speed wise because it's mapping SNES graphics to the GBA graphics hardware, rather than trying to software draw them which would be extremely slow. Many games will never work properly this way since GBA doesn't support SNES color arithmetic modes or the tile priority system. Plus the screen resolution it much less making for another issue.

    It is a nice concept though to use the accelerated graphics rendering to save lots of emulation time that would otherwise be spent on software graphics drawing.
