Back when I was about 3, my dad bought the simpsons road rage off ebay and ever since I have loved the game. Yet some people look down on it for it being like crazy taxi. I actually do hate the collision and framerate, but it is a really fun game! People just look at it and say "Just another crazy taxi knockoff." Yet it is its own game in itself, in a way.

I play this on my 360 (XBOX version) and that has no frame rate isssues. It is a good game but the car controls are a bit poor making later stages very difficuilt due to the time limits.

OP was 3 when the game was on eBay. Maybe it was a 5 year old used copy!

Either way, OP missed out of some HORRIBLE Simpsons games! Road Rage is one of the better Simpsons video games, but that isn't saying much. The franchise started out strong with the good enough Simpsons Arcade game, but it went down hill fast after that and didn't recover until Bart's Nightmare (sega only). The 2000-2003 timeframe was kind to the Simpsons with Road Rage, Wrestling, Hit & Run AND Bowling.

When I was younger (6 or 7, not 3 :p), I had the choice between the Simpsons Arcade game and Bart's House of Weirdness. At the time, the arcade game was the safe choice, so I went with that, but hindsight being what it is, I wish I had gotten Bart's House of Weirdness, since I don't think it ever got re-released and even Simpsons Arcade machines are very common...

Road Rage was alright, Hit & Run was good actually, lots of unlockables and stuff to collect and some of the cheats made the game more funny.

oh , stupid me. It's Hit & Run which i have on the XBOX. that is a good game but I stand by my statement that the later challengers are too hard.

I used to have Road Rage, and I thought it was awful. From what I remember, the controls sucked, so I was constantly crashing into stuff. And the passengers yapping on and on got really annoying. I've never played Hit and Run. The Simpsons, for being such a good show, has had some really terrible videogames made in its name. Although, the arcade Simpsons game by Konami was pretty good.

I got Road Rage back around when it was new in summer 2002 and I had a ton of fun with it. I had not played Crazy Taxi at that time and I already liked the Simpsons a lot. There could have been quite a few more jokes and the "secret vehicle" you can find as sort of the ultimate reward in the game doesn't really do anything special aside from looking dull (maybe that's the joke because it's Homer's custom-made car, the "Homer" :p).

Despite being an absolute rip-off from Crazy Taxi with basically no own ideas, I think it's pretty fun to play and a real alternative to Sega's game. There no reason to own it except if you're really thirsty for some Simpsons-exploring. In the end I think Hit & Run is much better for that though, plus there's much more content on top of that.
