Read first thread and just as confused. It's still written like you know what any of this is about. What's watermelon? What's paprium?
Here's the TL;DR: Somebody lied about making something and stole people's money. May or may not be kickstarter related.
Watermelon is the company who made the homebrew Mega Drive game Pier Solar and they were working on a new beat em up called Paprium for the Mega Drive home console. Based on what I have read it's one of those take the money and run deals. Hopefully the game can be finished instead of being cancelled. It looks very promising
From my own experience, as of now I have always received all items purchased. Years ago I pre-ordered Pier Solar for the Mega Drive, I think I waited around 4(?) years to receive my copy because development took longer. Fast forward to the Kickstarter era, I backed Pier Solar HD and chose the Dreamcast version. Also in this case it took them longer then their own set release date, but they did deliver a beautiful product. Also I purchased Papi Commando and the Pier Solar reprint from their webshop. Also with these products it took them longer then advertised, but I did get all of it. Does this give any guarantees for the future? Nope! That being said, it seems that a lot of indie projects take way longer then the creators anticipated on. Some times resulting in years and years of delays. So personally I have faith in that I will receive my order of Paprium.
have you guys seen the videos from the party they threw last week? HOLY SHIT this game is no where close to release, there are no enemies anywhere, the playable character has sprite glitches in multiple spots where it clearly is not done, why are they throwing a god damn party about this game?
