If you would like to donate your junk mainboards, go ahead!

    WELCOME TO THE STRIP CLUB!
Here you will find high resolution scans of various mainboards which I have stripped. The opaque layer was removed by sanding the boards after all parts were desoldered. Please feel free to use these for creating schematics, as reference or any other non-commercial purpose. Have Fun!

    Very nice scans!
While the thought of a SNES board being sacrificed and sanded troubles me, I like to think that this is a sacrifice that could save others.
Hope you kept the Various ASICs to fix other consoles. I have one right now that I think has a bad CPU, could use a replacement CPU.

No working consoles were harmed during this project ;)
I only used boards that I had in my junk-box or that were donated.
Actually it didn't take too long to do this - the desoldering part sucks but that's how it is.
I used a Bosch PDA Delta-sander for the stripping with 320 grains. Sanding one side takes about 5 Minutes and you really need to wear a mask while doing this.

I have an already desoldered NES ntsc mainboard on the table, pretty sure I'll add that this weekend.

Great work! This is a critical project, we're missing proper schematic information for even the most common systems. This is a great start towards correcting that.

Any chance of a Sega Saturn or Dreamcast on the horizon?

correct. no (working) consoles were harmed during this project ;-)
I have a desoldering station, a hot air rework station and a lot of other stuff that I use to strip the boards naked.
It takes hours to do it. Next thing on my shopping list is ESR and LVR meters to get all the values of the smd caps.
Any other or custom parts are treated with absolute care so they stay reusable.

Just added some more stuff. Still have a LOT of boards ready to go (2x Neo AES, MS1, MS2, PSX etc etc etc)

I do have a Saturn board on the pile. Generally yes, I could cover shipping but please get a quote on that to see how much that would be. Thanks!

    My answer was:

Hi and Thank You for this!
I have one gamecube board that still has a few more parts on it until I can strip it, it's been lying here for some time...
There's another cube in my bin which should be the other revision so I think I have both Versions of the board at hand.
PSP's would be a nice addition though, I don't have one of these yet.
Can you disassemble it so much that it would fit into an envelope and being sent by letter?

I donno why I don't get notification-emails from this board, if you like just drop me an email: info(at)[my username]-tv.de

    Thanks again,
    cheers.

    -Alex-
