First off, I'm new here, but I'm around at a lot of other sites as D-Lite too, so some of you may recognize me. Thought it was about time to join this board since the discussions here are pretty cool.

OK, to the matter at hand, I've been doing some superguns for a while now and I've been able to make them basically just using the diagram from the JROK website here: http://www.jrok.com
The JAMMA wiring schematic is pretty self explanatory. Other than that, for real specifics you could search the Tech Support forum at www.neo-geo.com where things from part numbers to line filters are discussed regularly.

You could see some designs too at my website here:

  3. I've finally decided to build a consolised Supergun for a NeoGeo MV-1C board. Putting it in a nice white casing, and I'm wanting to build a joystick for it.

Anyone know of any decent places to buy proper arcade cabinet buttons and sticks? I'm gonna need 4 full size buttons, a stick and 2 smaller push buttons for start/select.

Wooo. NeoGeo. :smt023 Woooo, cheap MVS carts.

The Future is Now. :prayer: SNK

I started work on my Supergun a few days ago. As of now it looks more like a JAMMA connector with a few wires soldered to it, though :smt042
Managed to feed power into my ST-V and the LED lights up! VICTOLY! :smt033

  8. Wouldn't that be more appropriate if you were trying to hook up a MVS instead? :smt043

And yeah, for anyone that lives in the US (not sure if they ship overseas or not, check their website), HAPP Controls is awesome - they have really fast shipping, take any sort of small order, and all their joysticks and buttons feature Cherry microswitches, arguably some of the best and studiest switches for arcade games. I got a joystick and some buttons from them when I was modding this arcade stick I got for my PS2, and I was nothing but satisfied.

  9. Anyone know where I can get one of these nice desktop PSUs that Uberia are packing with their Miniguns?

Very bottom right of the page. I'm consolizing an MV-1C, so I only need a PSU with +12v, +5v and GND. Tried searching google for one of these, but found nothing.

Also, what's the score with audio output from an MV-1C? It only has mono output, but is safe to wire this into the scart to the TV? Is the signal too strong? The audio is really the only part that's confusing me, as Uberia run the audio through the scart.

    Cheers.

Depends, the audio on the JAMMA connector is pre-amplified and you are advised against wiring that up to SCART, as the TV will amplify it even more. You need line level audio - I don't know if the MVS provides that, but my ST-V has a separate connector for that on the PCB (and it's stereo, too).

Alright then, BE ATTITUDE FOR GAINS!
