I was cleaning out my basement and to my surprise I find 20 NES game that I was given when a rental store dropped the system. I thought I had given them away years ago since at the time I was on to the SNES and they didn't interest me. Unfortunately the boxes were trashed by mold and water damage which is a shame but at least now they'll be able to take their rightful place on the shelf
WHen I moved into my recent house we checked the attic and found boxes of nes games and Disney Stands from The little mermaid. Crazy what you can find in places like that.
I found an old 286 in my father's crawlspace. I was wondering why he didn't just throw it out a decade ago lol.
Man the only thing I got in my basement are dead hookers and half-burned hobos (gas is expensive!) Anyways, more than once I find old stuff but mostly from olds PCs like manuals, disks and PCBs. The other day I found a VooDoo3 in its packaging.
There might be more since there are boxes to games I've yet to see and vice-versa but so far. Adventure Island II Baseball Stars BurgerTime Double Dragon II: The Revenge Fire 'n Ice King's Quest V Legends of the Diamond Yo! Noid Wario's Woods Pac-Mania Marble Madness Break Time: The National Pool Tour Kick Master Stadium Events Base Wars WWF WrestleMania Challenge The Little Mermaid Toobin' Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (GEN) The Pagemaster (GEN)
I was in my attic the other day and found a fairly intact box for a Panasonic portable CD player. Inside there was a receipt from Best Buy dated 12/24/1996 (I assume my dad bought it). It was $170, I think. That's a lot for a damn portable CD player, especially when you factor in inflation.
Fuck yeh. I got one of those at the end of my 6th grade year and dropped it into my Pentium 1 at a blazing 133mhz and 16mb of ram. Tomb Raider II and III went from maple syrup in a Canadian winter to quick silver on a skillet. Loved my Voodoo3 2000. I don't have as much stuff (have to cram it all into a 12x12' space atm) but every once in a while I'll open a box looking for something and find something I've long since thought lost. My attic is fairly spartan overall.
Many years ago I forgot about a box of old gaming mags in my parents basement. On a visit to their house a few years later, I realized that the box had been in an area of the basement that frequently took on water in the springtime. Well, the mags were soaked and mildew stained, so they had to be thrown out.
