Hey everyone, There are different types of video game collectors, but I think most will agree that it's about quality in a collection, not about quantity. Quality can be in rarity, price, gameplay, memories you have with a game or the way you acquired it for your collection. In this video i showcase the top 5 items in my collection and explain why I picked them. With this video I hope to inspire other collectors to make a (video) reply in which they show their top 5 items, with the story behind them. The video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UeYo2tuqQm8 I'm looking forward to see your replies!
Out of my mind right now (and probably forgetting other items): - Gunners Heaven (PS1): Love that game so much! Took years to find a decent copy. - Philosoma (PS1): Same as above. - Gran Turismo Concept 2002 Tokyo-Seoul (PS2): Only released in Korea! Gotta thank Twimfy forever for helping me getting this! - Gran Turismo 4 Online Test Version (PS2): Only available for selected granturismo.com members in Japan. Most were probably sold to used game store after the service shut-down. Have to thank unclejun for this one. - Killzone 3 Helghast Edition (PS3): I'm a big fan of the Killzone series (even though most people just trash it) and was amazing getting this special edition as a birthday gift.
- Victor Wondermega: such a beautiful system. S-Video output is also a nice feature. - (Gray) Japanese Saturn: awesome system, and I think the gray one looks cooler than the black American one. - Sutte Hakkun: really fun puzzle game with some great music. - Sega ST-V: an arcade Saturn that uses cartridges. What can I say. - Neo Geo MVS: an awesome system with tons of great games. If only I could afford them. :crying:
- vewlix (replica): virtua fighter 5 fs + after burner climax (with flight stick) = eternal fun - akumajou dracula x (psone): I love the game, the cover artwork, the soundtrack and the artbook. gorgeous! - ninja gaiden asia limited edition (xbox): took me ages to get that one! - wanda to kyozou premium pack (ps2): this one was even harder to get but it was worth the effort because it`s a beautiful peace of art. - to my good old dreamcast: I love you!
Nintendo 64 - Because it was the first video game system I played Mario Kart 64 - Also above, first game. Vigilante 8 - I loved this game so much, I'd write stories about it at school. V-Saturn - First console I imported, and I love SEGA Saturn DOCTOR V64 - A system I've wanted for ages and finally have it, rarest system I own.
5. Dreamcast, not because it's collectible, but because it's fun. 4. Virtual Boy - it's always a conversation starter, and it's fun to play. 3. Snes, specifically the carts - Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy III, and Macross (Imported) 2. PC Engine Core - Impossible to get in Mexico, found its way to me by accident and coincidence. It's awesome. 1. Atari 2600 (promotional) - it's got the mysterious "tattoo" with the word "Promotional" on the bottom of it. It's the one my brother and sister played when they were kids, and the one I got taught to play video games on, and it still works perfectly. I get new games for it often, too. Nothing but pure class, the Atari.
I assume that he did not list those because they are not rare, uncommon or have a place in his heart, like the other games listed? I thought that would be obvious enough if you read his post, where 4/5 of the games were difficult to acquire, and the fourth was given as a gift.
Exactly. I love GT3 A-Spec (one of the best in the series imo) and i still like / play GT5 ( it's being constantly updated by PD), but the ones i posted are the rare ones. Plus they were added to my collection with the help of two great friends from the forums. Another rare one i could have mentioned is Gran Turismo HD Install Disc, as it was only available for a limited amount of time in Japan.
Net Yaroze - Complete - Boxed with all manuals and accessories Doctor v64 - Complete - Boxed with all manuals and accessories SNES Wild Card - Fully Working (always wanted one and now i do - get in!) Vectrex - Fully working with Pad - Released same year as i was born - great little system Sega Multi Mega - Fully working with all Leads, Pads etc. (again always wanted one when i was younger but mum and dad said no, fast forward 20 years and i say yes lol)
"This is Cool" Skeleton Saturn - Man does it look cool. Shining Force 3 series - The first games I ever imported (Scenario 2-3), and the Premium disk is awesome fan service. Dragon Force - Deluxe(PS2) Sealed game, Soundtrack, Artbook, and pin. Guardian Heroes(Saturn) I love this game. Crystal Dev Xbox Looks great.
I would have to say - Bomber Raid - One of my favourite shooters of all time but most probably for nostalgic reasons Zelda: Twilight Princess - The one and only game that my girlfriend has actually bought me without me having to ask! She even went to the trouble of pre-ordering it (Gamecube version) so I have some nice pre-order postcards too! Sega Master System - Still have my first powerbase system that my folks bought me for my 10th birthday. It was becoming an out-dated system by then and all my friends had megadrives but I didn't give a shit cause it was my first console! :love2: Gamecube NR Reader - My intro into the development underworld. Spotted it on EBay and followed various links throughout the web (Shiggsy, OE etc...) that finally lead me here where I met a wonder of new friends and great contacts. Still wish some of the older faces were around and posted more often (I can still hear Parris whining on at me to sort a facebook out ;-) ) Goldeneye - Another nostalgic title for me. Reminds me of sleeping over at my brothers house and staying up all night playing games and eating junk... good old days! I could list so many more items that have much higher values or are one of a kind or some stuff I don't even want to mention but non of those have a place in my heart like these!!!
5. Panzer Dragoon soundtracks - I've got the complete collection, and I love them all! 4. Plush Reala - I always liked Reala in NiGHTS, so I was very happy when I tracked down one of the large plush Reala dolls. 3. Panzer Dragoon Saga - Bought it the day it game out. PD is my favorite series of all time, and PDSaga is my favorite RPG. 2. Shinrei Jusatsushi Taromaru - Got my copy from someone who bought it new (and kept everything in mint condition) right before the prices sky rocketed. Also one of my all time favorite games. 1. Blast Wind - It took me a year to track down a mint/complete copy. And amazingly, it turned out to be my all time favorite game.
