European cover of Guardian Heroes while it’s not as bad as the american cover is still weird and kinda awful. Why removing the two female playable characters (Nicole Neil, the pink hair magician and Serena Corsair, the badass green hair knight) and replacing them with two NPC from the bad guys? It doesn’t makes any sense. It’s like making a cover for a Mighty Morphin Power Rangers game and replace the yellow and pink Ranger with Bulk and Skull.

The three variations are awful. The american cover is a weird case of what were they thinking?, the PAL seems like someone at the marketing who never played the game just choosed a picture that was already made.

Or perhaps the person thought: if we put girls on the cover together with a 6 player game! the boys will have problems with their friends because girls don't play and no boy would want to play as girls. Nineties mentality? And they needed to sell those multi taps!

To be honest I think that the marketing could have been aimed at the parents of those boys. And the parents of those boys could think like that. They would be the ones buying those multitaps anyway.
One of these days I was at the library reading the 80's Woman's Enciclopedia and that thing shows how different the society was in those times. It's really funny.

And this is nothing near as main stream as Power Rangers. Wasn't the yellow Power Ranger a boy? Remember that nobody at the girls side ever choosed the yellow ranger because no skirt!

What if the yellow Ranger is actually a dick-girl? Just kidding.

Power Ranger fanboy here along with it's Japanese source : Super Sentai.

Power Rangers has been adapted from the Japanese TV show called Super Sentai. Zyuranger is the 16th season of the Super Sentai series when it was adapted by Saban to be renamed "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers." what they did is create a different story, replace the normal human scenes with US actors and keep/adapt most of the fighting footage. They also sourced some of the costumes from Toei in order to create original footage when needed.

In Zyuranger, only the pink ranger is female, in Super Sentai, the yellow ranger is a male adolescent boy. That is the reason the yellow ranger costume does not have a skirt while the pink ranger costume has a skirt.

Hope this answers your question. =)
