Well Boardwalk didn't disappoint. The Walking Dead will probably be only thing to challenge it for best new show this season. Between this and new House, Glee, and Fringe starting this week I am a happy camper.

I've been watching Satoshi Kon's films since his death. Just watched 'Millenium Actress' today. I really, really good film. It just makes me more upset that there will never be another Kon film.

There is so much crap anime out there, why did one of the few that actually make good stuff have to go?

hmmm I have been thinking for months now, and it is about the whole Mario vs. Giana Sisters stuff (in the ancient thread) and the music and what not..
Anyway I have been collecting a lot of music over the years, and one of the themes I have been collecting is the theme from Giana Sisters, and I have 100+-(not below 80) different covers of that theme in MANY different genres ranging from heavy metal to classical music . So what I am thinking is this, and that is how many fucking covers are there of the Super Mario theme ? Cause I know for a fact, that I have 80+ different covers of the theme from Giana Sisters, and I would be surprised if there just as many covers of the Super Mario theme. And yeah I admit that the them from Giana Sisters has a place in my heart, but still. And also I have a few covers of some of the level scores from Giana Sisters, but here we are talking about the main theme of two games. So how many covers are there of the two respectfully game themes ?
Cause the music of the notorious game Giana Sisters has been covered by at least 80+ artists and in a LOT of genres.

Thousands at least, you couldn't even begin to track them all down. Just go on youtube and type "mario music". If it makes noise, someone's played the Mario theme on it. You can't seriously be comparing the popularity of Giana Sisters with Mario Bros..? Even by your standards, that's insane.

And why are you asking this in the "What are you watching" thread?

Just finished True Blood season 3 and the True Blood minisodes. Season 4 will be intense.
Also, The Boardwalk Empire was amazing.
And the new FX tv show, Terriers, is awesome!

I should get around seeing that show, is it any good? I've heard great stuff about it, but haven't seen a single complete episode of it yet.

Watched a screening of Star Wars tonight at Chapman University. After the screening, there was a Q&A session with Visual Effects artist Richard Edlund, who won an Oscar for his work on Star Wars. It was totally awesome.

Next week is Terminator 2. Then Bladerunner. Last week was Close Encounters and Rich Dreyfuss was the guest speaker.

And now I'm home and have this waiting for me from Netflix.

    I envy you

In any case the awesomest thing would be the creator of the HeMan flash animation to give a lecture about WHAT'S GOING ON!

Totally hooked to The Wire these days (or weeks, or months). Very intense, thrilling, I'm always looking forward to what happens next - last show I felt the same was LOST.

Next episode is S03E11 and 12 - the season 3 finale.

I was also thinking about watching Das Boot again as the underwater atmosphere is so captivating. But it takes more than three hours until it's over, I can't bear that on a Friday eve :p

I got 'High Noon' via Netflix today. However, I'm probably going to watch 'Some Like it Hot' in memory of Tony Curtis. :(

The Wire simply does not disappoint. These next two episodes will prove that.

    They did.

Although I'm a little shocked about what happened to some of the main characters. Oh damn... can't wait to start season 4 and 5 :) What would I do if I had to wait another 9 months until I can continue watching?
I followed LOST in "real time" and that was a deadly serious experiment for my impatient nature.

You'll probably be a little disappointed with S4 and 5 of The Wire, at least, I was. There are a couple of shark-jumping moments in there. Still vastly better than most TV, though.

I'm about to start Breaking Bad S3.
