So I figure the Wii Libary is 80% shit 5% Nintendo games and 5% games actually worth playing. I don't own a Wii, I did play Muramasa which I hear is hitting XBLA eventually but beyond that nothing much. So Following in the trend I set with the Dreamcast and XBOX threads what are the stand out wii games that are buried amongst the SHIT me too mini game collections? The Wii DOES have a few shmups to speak of I think Karous appears on the Wii like 3 times or something. Plus all the PC Engine Shmups on the VC
A few you don't hear about too often: MiniCopter: Adventure Flight (called Puchi Copter in Japan) Ghost Squad Metroid Prime 3 (it's not obscure, but it's under-appreciated) Boom Blox WarioWare: Smooth Moves Unfortunately I still don't own the latter 2 because Gamestop still wants a mortgage payment for them, but I've played through the entirety of Smooth Moves several times (it's incredibly short). All of those make use of the Wiimote, but they do it well, in my opinion.
Just realized I've had Blast Works new and sealed for like two years now. Paid 10€ for it at a clearance sale too.
Metroid Other M got bad views among players and fans. How ever any Metroid game is a good game to me, mainly because I love Samus. Super Smash Bros. Brawl is very popular together with all it's Homebrew. SEGA have released Gunblade NY, and LA Machine Guns.. But I'm yet to try this game out for the Wii.
Not exactly obscure or buried treasures or anything, tho...: Castle of Shikigami III Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo (not Z, which is a big plus IMO) Metroid Prime Trilogy (if you can find it for a reasonable price) No More Heroes ...all of which I still have to finish x_x
I don't have a Wii, but I'd like to get one (eventually). I recall reading about a game which really perked my interest: Little King's Story. I think it got pretty got reviews and sounded like something I would have some fun with. Sim/RPG with a light-hearted storyline, could be nice. Hopefully I'll pick it up one day and enjoy it once the Wii is as cheap as the GC is now. Anyone played it? Then there's Endless Ocean games. I really enjoyed Everblue 2 on the PS2... never thought a scuba diving game could be so addictive
I may get a wii dirt cheap just to play No more Heroes 1 and 2 Pisses me off the 360 version didn't get a US release.
Prime 3 is a masterpiece. The bit trip games are awesome on wiiware. They've released them all together on a disc in the states, I'd buy it if they released it here. Errrr. I'd like to try dkcr and kirbys yarn. Yeah the wii is shite. There I said it.
First and second party should be obvious, but still, here they are: Metroid Prime 3 is fantastic. Get the Trilogy if you can, as the first Prime is also excellent. Excite Truck and its sequel, Excite Bots, are crazy fun, and should be very cheap. Punch Out, but only if you liked the NES original. Dr. Mario, there are people still playing it online I think. Naturally Mario and Zelda games are a must. At least try Galaxy. Avoid Mario Kart Wii, rent it first. Third Party games: Both No More Heroes. Neither is perfect, but what they do is great, the sequel is better. All Sega Light Gun Games (House of the Dead, Ghost Squad, etc.) Tatsunoko vs Capcom is different from the rest of the Versus series but works well. I recommend a joystick for this one, Wii joysticks are cheap right now. I recommend the Wii Fighting Stick by Hori. All the SNK collections (SNK Arcade Classics, Metal Slug Anthology, KOF Orochi Saga, Samurai Shodown Anthology) altough also available on PS2, are better on the Wii. Castle of Shikagami III Lost Winds, very short, but makes great use of the controller. The Bit Trip Games Contra Rebirth is old school Contra fun. Ghostbusters: The Video Game has a very intuitive and fun mechanics, I prefer it to the 360 and PS3 versions. It only has split screen, but it's fun for two people. Boom Blox A Boy and His Blob Batman the Brave and The Bold if you are a fan of short beat em ups or the animated series humor. Sonic Colors.
Agreed, good game Xenoblade is a great game Personaly, I love ExciteBots Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, of course Red Steel 2 wasn't too bad The Conduit, while short, was pretty solid
No one mentioned Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn, one of my favourite games on the Wii New Super Mario Bros Donkey Kong Mario Galaxys Little King's Story is awesome Rune Factory Frontier Resident Evil and Pikmin GC ports if you never played them Okami Wario Land Shake it Zack & Wiki Klonoa remake is decent
Glad to see these getting some love. If you want really obscure, believe it or not, "We Cheer 2" is actually a really fun rhythm game. I have also heard good things about "Order Up!" and "Go Vacation" but I haven't tried those.
favorite games on the wii new super mario bros, punch out wii. wanting to get price is right for wii. .sounds like fun another reason i got the wii is the vc console. i traded a nice cb radio and antenna for my wii back in the summer, and it had 5 vc games downloaded already donkey kong country , super mario world, super mario bros, mario kart 64, and punch out. my brother bought me the lost levels mario 2 japan game a couple months ago.. even tho i like this system, i hardly hook it up. i mostly play my old school xbox1 , and its mostly emulators then.
All I have for my Wii is some VC games and Dead Space: Extraction and No More Heroes. Although I've yet to play either one of those... All I use my Wii for currently is Super Smash Bros. 64 and Melee. That's it....
