How many of you guys seen this classic when you were a kid http://www.celebrityscum.com/2005/02/27/Has-Beens/has-been-of-the-week-fred-savage.html
I didnt see this movie when I was a kid, but I saw it. Its Ok, I guess, but I dread the day when someone makes a movie about a Halo 2 tournament or something like that. I wonder what the name would be? ideas The Hacker The Camper The Cheater The Pwn3r :smt043
I saw it when I was a kid.. and I don't really remember anything of it except that the powerglove was in it
I remember seeing it when I was 12, and even then I remember thinking it was just a glorified ad for Super Mario Bros. 3. Still, for a 12-year old kid, it was pretty awesome. I should rent it sometime soon, because I literally haven't seen it since then. I think it was shown at the 2004 PAX conference sponsored by Penny Arcade on a big screen, which would have been awesome.
I`ve seen it but I also have it now Found out about it by searching for my MARIO stuff and found it.......so ebayed and picked up a copy. Shame they don`t do something similar now but not practical
I am waiting for a movie based on a Magic: The Gathering tournament; they already tried to make it a sport...
Wait a min..., if I remember they played a whole bunch of NES games in some sort of competition. Didn't they have a playable version of the Nintendo World Champs cart? I may be 100% wrong BTW...
I remember watching this years ago. One thing that puzzled me - no one had seen SMB3 before (in the plot), yet the lad found one of the Warp Whistles on his first go. Hmmmm. Best line from the movie: "I love the Powerglove,....It's so bad".
That's because a traumatic experience that leaves you unable to speak any word but "California" allows you to be in tune with the "Nintendo force."
"Just keep your powerglove off her..." A true classic. Until recently I even had the little Pocket Power magazine they gave away in the theaters (Ebayed it for $20. Problably could have got more.)
I had better get this out and watch it again Buggar I don`t have a DVD player in my PC as could record the video to dvd but can`t then upload/share it anywhere
I still have it. Only DVD of it, by the way, is Joystick Heroes, the German version. Incidentally, the Power Glove CAN'T play the Close Encounters tune like that... close, but not quite! As for sharing it, I'd say that would be a BIG no-no probably... easy way to get the site shut down! Still, anyone who wants it could find it though the usual file sharing methods... or buy it on eBay for a few dollars on VHS.
http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/90046 I bet it would be along the lines of this movie. And yes, I have had the displeasure of being around a real game in progress. There was a 500 pound guy, an 80 pound boy/girl thing, some goths with piercings-a-plenty, and some of your generic nerds all loudly arguing in the books a million store over something very petty. I think the fat guy was mad because his orc was being beat the crap up. :smt082
