Hey everyone, I made a thread a while ago showing the first part of the video series I created that goes over the development history of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time. Well now I've finally found the time to finish the second part. I think a lot of people will really enjoy this, so check it out if you get the chance! Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KdQO8_IMAk8&feature=relmfu This first part covers the very early stages of Zelda and some of the changes it went through. Part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtc8vLFCZSE&feature=youtu.be The second part goes over all of the notable changes that lead up to the final games version. I hope you guys like it!
You pointed out some interesting things. As for where the horse was at in the picture a random field, I believe that was originally how hyrule field was but the developers scaled back on it cause they found that it had too many obstacles and slowed down horse ridding. As for the picture with zeldas horse, based on the iwata ask interview I believe they did that to test if two horses could function on screen. Still I say its the best doc on oot development, it goes through the beta footage through a fine tooth comb, compares facts with interviews and points out slight differences. Plus I dig the WARP style intro, even the music is very similar.
very nice. I really enjoyed both videos. as for the second horse - well, it's possible zelda's horse was used as a place holder. Developers do it a lot. Example if you look at preview trailers for modern warfare 3 - you'll see the guns they're holding don't match the animations.
