"Oh my God" was the first thing I said when I saw these. Tinny replica ships from some of the best retro shooters ever! I'm off to this shop to buy a load of them but at 400 yen a pop and no idea what ship will pop out of the machine I'm bound to have a few doubles. So if you want one check out this thread to see what I end up selling. What's really sad is that this is the 3rd volume! What was in the 1st and 2nd volumes? Thunder Force? Gradius? Hell Fire? DonPachi? Who knows but I'm sure not missing out on these babies. I've mainly got my eye on the Granada ship, Wolf Fang mech and Sokyugurentai. Yakumo
Wouah I'm surprised you didn't know :110: You missed quite a few, pictures here. Gradius has been covered, but nothing fancy like Thunder Force or Hellfire yet.
These things are indeed awesome, but I only have a few from Volume 2. It had Star Luster (Laster?), R-Type III, RayStorm, Musha Aleste and Fantasy Zone (complete with 10 Ton weight!) IIRC. Pretty sure you can still get them cheap at Play-Asia. This volume doesn't interest me as much, but I'd love to have the Souky...Sokuy..whatever ship and the Wolf Fang mech (because mechs are cool).
Holy smoke Granada! I forgot all about that game. My brother and I would play this game all the time on the Genesis back in the day.
Yakumo, you can buy these models by Yujin in boxed sets at Gashapon/anime model shops. I've seen them in Akihabara; I'm sure there's one somewhere near you.
Really? Now that would be a much better idea. I wonder if Mandraka sell them? EDIT: Never mind. Just ordered the full 2nd and 3rd set from this place - http://www.toystwinbell.com/ Cash on delivery as well
The first one was R-Type, Graidus, Gradius 2, Image Fight and Darius Gaiden The second one was R-Type III, Fantasy Zone, Star Juster, Star Blade, Raystorm and Spriggan Mark 2. They were sold in exotic places like Familymart...
Apparently there were two versions of the second volume, the first one had Musha Aleste while the second one had Spriggan Mark 2.
you can have my one. I have no interest in that ship. The box sets should arrive here on Friday so I'll post pictures then. Yakumo
Can you get me a Raiden? Of course I'll pay for the cost and other fees accrued for your troubles. I gladly appreciate your help.
sure, no problem. The thing is that after shipping plus PayPal fees it won't be cheap. Raiden ship = 400 yen Shipping to Europe or the US = 600 yen Paypal fees 5% of 1000 yen being 50 yen TOTAL = 1050 yen Here's the ships I have no interest in keeping out of sets 2 and 3: In The Hunt Raiden Star Shooter Star Luster Star Blade The ones I will be keeping are from Musha Aleste / Spirigun (I heard that some sets contain one or the other) Fantasy Zone Granada R-Type III Raystorm (Layer Section / Galactic Attack) Sokyugurentai Wolf Fang If there are any others that I've not mentioned I'll probably be selling those as well. Same price at 1050 yen with all fees included. Or if you want a full set in an official box I can do them for 6500 yen with shipping included. ASSEMbler can have in the hunt for free though as a thank you for keeping this fantastic place going all these years. Yakumo
[Get's out pitchfork.] Burn the heritic. Star Shooter? Hangings too good for you... It's Star Soldier, a fantastic shooter on the Famicom. 8 Bit not good enough for you? :110: No love for Raiden, is it because it never came out on the Saturn and you couldn't bring yourself to buy a playstation to play it on?
I think it was playing Raiden on the SFC that put me off for life. Bloody awful version. Then again the Mega Drive isn't much better. I'm sure the later games are very good, it's just that Saibu's games never really cought my attention. Star Shooter, hmm..... I was more of a Aleste Fan in the 8bit days.
