Why the sad face? Haha. Are the russian ones concidered to be a treat outside of eastern europe? Because I have a whole bunch of them and if you want more photos I will be more than happy to post them. *Without* the watermark.
I think if werent for that corrupt bastards in their government the russians would rule in any area related to engineering and technology. BTW, are you russian? or just speak the lenguage?
Russia is one big ass country. There ought to be one or two brainiacs among all the people, right? Russian hackers are amazingly resourceful, I have to say. Never in my life have I seen this type of editing done to a game by a bunch of nerds. You can really see they tried to add to the bootleg market. Haha. Not only did they press their CDs, but they were also complex edits and translations. Nice. And no, I'm not russian, but I know the language. I learned the cyrillic alphabet back when I was a kid. I'm nowhere near the native level, but I guess I know how to ask "where is the shoe store?".
Yeah I know russia has a big population, but even that we could say the ratio of computer nerds is higher that in other countries, specially non-first world countries. Do you live somewhere near to russia at all? I have an east-german friend that speaks russian fluently
I'm from Poland originally, so you can say I was closer to Russia than anyone from Germany, since Poland is in between the two. As for obtaining these games, I got them a while back, while in Poland. I live in Sweden now.
Hey hey! I live in Skane, and that was a part of Denmark a while back, as far as I know. Besides, It's like an hour drive to Malmö or Helsingborg for me, so I can be in Denmark in no time basically [Either by the bridge from Malmö to Köpenhamn, or by the ferry from Helsingborg to Helsingör].
Well, I live 12 kilometres from København, even though I am born and raised there. People København/Köbenhamn = Copenhagen to all who don´t understand. The meaning of the name is "the merchants harbour", and I can tell alot about the capital, but enough history, and about Scania (Skaane/Skåne) Yes it has been a part of Denmark long ago, ok not that long ago, but the history of Scandinavia is an exiting topic, I won´t go into here. people move along, I was just caught in my exitement
Yeah I know, but russia had a lot of precense in east germany. There's lots of russians there from before the wall got smashed in 89. Anyway, so you're from poland? that means we cant make pole jokes anymore? PS: could you hook me up with some girl there? I heard they're hot!
I was just about to hook Shadowlayer up with two polish chicks, one on each side, but we have to get back on the subject, so... But back to the bootlegs in general, I wonder if the DS ones will make their way to Poland. There are about four people in Poland who buy originals, so I guess that would be a great place to market any kind of bootlegs. Anyone wants some more photos of russian silvers?
better late than never I say.. In some countries a system doesn't sell if the price isn't right, and bootlegs give those people the joy of the game at a reduced price. On a funny side note, in the United Arab Emirates (where money is anything but short) my then girlfriend bought me Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga, and I noticed the "Nintondo" writing at the back of the cart. Pretty damn funny. The game worked/works like a charm (Although I ve never been able to get rumble on the gameboy player with it..which I can't explain, if anyone can please do).
I'll post some tomorrow then. Without the nasty watermark this time. I have a whole bunch of those. They were quite common and quite cheap back in the day so I got them. Thinking that in a few years time, even silver bootlegs become collectors' items. These bootlegs are pretty rare outsode of Russia, Poland and other eastern european countries. Sure, someone from Germany can probably get a hold of them, since Germany share the border with Poland, but I don't think you can get them outside europe at all. So even though they're illegal, they're pretty neat to have. I do own the originals by the way. Allthough some of them are european releases, while the bootlegs are ripped from the US versions.
:crying: Paulo is teh dead now....:rambo: Dunno, but in saudi arabia only a small part of the population gets the money. The rest lives like in any other standart arabian country, but with harder laws...
yea, the Ebne Saud family (which is quite expansive) ruling Saudi Arabia are cheap-asses and keep all the fun to themselves last time I checked. In the UAE the locals get tons of fun from the government, and the rest don't live that bad either. It's a tax-free place. That said, lower tier jobs aren't highly paid and incomes are steady but low. Life isn't poor though in any way.
Yeah, I used to live in Saudi in the early '90s. Besides all the oil money not being equally shared, they had no regard for copyright law - you had to TRY to get something that wasn't pirated there! Our local game shop would sell you PC and Amiga games for 5 Riyals (about £1 at the time) per disk, in your format of choice (5.25" still existed back then ^_^), and if they didn't have any copies in stock they'd make them with the PC on the counter right in front of you! My friends also had some dodgy Famicom with about 100 games built-in. Similarly magical Atari 2600s were also common - I had a good few friends with them, but they never had any cartridges! I never saw any SNES or MD bootlegs, but not a lot of my friends had any at the time (I left in 1993). The only things that weren't bootlegged there were CDs and LaserDiscs.
i ve seen bootlegs of megadrive games, compilations etc. awesome stuff. Also, captain tsubasa is known as captain majid there
