Hey, i really have never used roms & emulators a lot because i prefer to play on real hardware... but now that my systems / games get older and older i have a bit fear of losing a few games in the near future.

Are there any sites on the internet where FM Towns games are stored ?

I can only find rom sites and the most links are dead / not many games are there. My intention is not to download and play ISOs, i have 135 different FM Towns titles @ the moment and i think my collection will grow over 200 this year.

So should i start to backup the games somewhere or maybe upload them ?

But thats illegal or isn´t it ?

This is new for me so please help me a bit with this...

    thanx! ^__^

If this is completely wrong here, sorry & delete !

I guess its ok if you own the game on real media or if the game is freeware, which happens after 10-20? years.

I say that this would be greatly beneficial and positive, as all that Japanese hardware and software has two characteristics:

    1) Extremely obscure/unavailable, even nowadays
    2) Now obsolete, and in danger of being lost.

Generating an archive of it would certainly be good for culture.

We shouldn't lose software that established the bases of much of today's gaming.

I have tons of FM Towns ROM's and have a good site with some if you need it just send a PM and I will invite you. There is a little over 100gb of FM Towns games I have in my collection so I am sure I have most of what you do but the rare and obscure. Honestly the system is still within it's copyrights but does anyone care to do something about an abandonware system? No not really, I wouldn't worry about it. If you can't buy it new anymore they tend to over look it.

The Tokugawa forums. Its more of a request based thing though, given the size of some of the files.
