No. This is Japan, and Japanese are afraid of the internet. The best you will get is the online real estate sites which are somewhat catching up but still total shit. BTW, legion, I used suumo.jp. fuckedgaijin.com isn't bad, but it's just like asking for help here.

Cheers GaijinPunch I downloaded the Suumo app and Chintai app!
Of course I am aware of fake advertised apartments so seeing a rep is always the way to go

Also remember that they only photo apartments with ultra wide angle lenses -- generally 16mm. They totally disort the place and make the front end look close and the back end look far. If you're lucky there will be something in the photo give you an idea of how big it really isn't.

Bump here, I've thought about this more, and I'm wondering what my options are if I want to travel there sometime soon. I'm currently 16 years old, not in school (personal reasons for that, don't want to get into it much) and currently not employed (plan on changing that). I was reading another topic on here, by Defectx11, saying he was staying with a family, which seems like would drastically reduce the cost there. How would I (if even possible) try to set something like that up? It would seem a lot more possible for me to actually do this trip if something like that could be done. Everything he described in his topic sounds about what I would want to do, I just want to know a good estimate, for travel and living expenses. For example, if I were to get a job, adn work for one year, saving all of it. Would that suffice enough? This is something I really really would like to do, at the same time, if I'm looking at something that just isn't possible without a more solid plan, or more money, I get that for sure. Thank you for anyone who replies.

Japan is one of the most expensive countries in the world. so it will cost money. sure you could try couchsurfing, hitchhiking and stuff like that. but it will be difficult.

there are cheap options for eating and drinnking...yet your money will fly away. so maybe getting a job and saving like crazy is not a bad start.

there are language programs or working travel programs which might help you to stay with a japanese family.

not sure about the requirements though.

16, not in school and unemployed. Not to mention broke. I'm not being funny but perhaps Japan needs to go on the back burner for a few years while you get your life in order. Maybe look again when you're a little more mature, cash-laden and equipped with a plan that doesn't involve living off dirt, fresh air and the extreme benevolence of a Japanese family. Living with a family usually involves a student exchange program so you can forget about that.

Getting your GED should be priority number one at the moment. You won't be able to even get to Japan otherwise. From there, you can try local community college exchange programs. If there are none, then you'll have to get a four year degree or get involved in some sort of company that regularly flies you to Japan...which will most likely require a four year degree anyway.

This deserves an asterisk. Indeed you can't get a job w/o a GED, b/c you can't get a job w/o a 4-year university degree (or 10 years professional work experience). So, unless you've been in a sweat shop since you were 6...
